Ukrainian officials are blaming SpaceX for restricting access to Starshield, the military version of Starlink, without notice and hampering their war effort.
But in the past, Elon Musk has said that Starshield is paid for and "operated by" the US government.
So who really made the decision to limit Ukraine's satellite internet access?

The headquarters of one of the world's most valuable companies was hit by a missile last night.
Reuters: A company source told Reuters earlier that a ballistic missile hit the Aramco headquarters complex in Dhahran. The source said an office tower in the complex was struck and that its top three floors were damaged. The source and two other people with knowledge of the matter said the building was on fire.
The complex hosts a major operations centre for Aramco, which oversees a vast network of onshore and offshore oil rigs, pipelines, refineries and export terminals.

There's been a lot of discussion about @Starlink in Ukraine today.
Here's what I can tell you: Starlink is working. No one has cut off connectivity, and standard service plans remain unchanged.
Here are the stats from my car-mounted Starlink Mini during my morning drive today. These measurements were taken while moving through the city, with plenty of obstructions, so don't pay too much attention to the occasional signal drops.
As for the Starshield service plan and the reported speed limitations, I can neither confirm nor deny anything at this point. I'd suggest waiting for official statements rather than fueling premature panic or accusations of betrayal.
Most Starlink terminals in Ukraine operate on standard service plans, and nothing has changed for them. I can confirm that.
I don't believe anyone will cut off this service. The consequences of such a decision would be catastrophic, and not primarily for Ukraine. I've written about this before.
I know many people at @SpaceX, and they're great people. Of course, sometimes even good people can't override decisions made by management.
I think this is just a difficult phase that we need to get through calmly, without jumping to conclusions.

More reports that Starlink cut off Ukrainian drone operations last night, destroying several ongoing missions.
This took place while several Ukrainian cities were under Russian missile barrage.
The U.S. seems to be increasingly aiding Russia's war on our country.

Russia has struck all three of Kyiv’s combined heat and power plants (CHPs) overnight, while also attacking critical infrastructure in the Kyiv region supplying electricity to the capital and central Ukraine.
Starlink access was also reportedly restricted overnight.
And as always, a so-called ceasefire is good for markets and media headlines.

An update from Serhii Sternenko - this in practice disables Starlink-based remote control for any fixed-wing drones + any Starlink use on drone interceptors.
That is an extremely irresponsible action by Elon, SpaceX, and the US government!

Bulgaria is part of NATO and the EU, so this is slow #WW3:
BREAKING: 🇧🇬 Two commercial ships have been hit by drones in the Black Sea off Bulgaria, with one sinking, marking the fourth such incident in less than a week.
The Maltese-flagged Chelsea 3, a Ukrainian-owned cargo ship registered in Odesa, was struck by three aerial drones around 18 nautical miles east of Byala. The vessel was sailing from Giresun, Turkey, to Giurgiulești, Moldova. It is owned and managed by a Ukraine-based company, Black Sea Shipping Management.
All 15 crew members seven Ukrainians and eight Azerbaijani were rescued and taken to Varna. Five reportedly sustained minor injuries.
A second vessel was hit around 17 nautical miles east of Krapets and sank. One crew member was rescued.
Prime Minister Rumen Radev condemned the attacks and said Bulgaria would seek technical assistance from the EU and NATO to investigate the incidents, determine where the drones originated, and strengthen surveillance of its airspace and maritime zone.
Radev also announced plans to summon Russian Ambassador Eleonora Mitrofanova, arguing that Russia stands to benefit from the attacks.
