The @jack & @roelofbotha @sequoia piece on AI and hierarchy is worth reading.
My issue: their world model is built from whatever the org was already recording. You don’t escape the old architecture. You automate it.

We often compare Africa’s tech ecosystem to the US 2025 playbook.
But the data says we’re closer to US ’80, Israel ’95, India ’05 — and that’s not a bad thing. That’s how ecosystems grow.

Post a few (VERY) #turbulent weeks (or months...) in #African #Macroeconomics, and more specifically in #Nigeria with the #Naira losing value at an unheard of pace, a few pre-weekend #Reflections on #AfricaTech from past weeks... 🧵>>:
End / 11 #AfricaVC is never boring. #2024 is gearing up to be the year of many key #realisations, we need to embrace it together, share and learn from each other, and make it a better ecosystem coming into 2025...

9/17 Second #BalanceSheet and #CashCycles: It's not just us. Customers are also struggling. Lengthening payment cycles. Racking up receivables. many times some runway is hiding in your ability to collect, and if some of this is finance with $$ debt it becomes even more critical.
16/17 It also opens a door for a (less ego driven) M&A options, across products, geographies and customer basis, to create larger and winning platforms that can truly deliver, more so in such times. 2024 will bring many answers to the '23 questions. Not all may be happy answers
17/17 but #Clarity, at the end, is always a great thing.
We will soon know where we stand, and that for a change, makes this year a super exciting one to be deep into #AfricaTech.
Onwards and upwards with #Realism and #Focus.
Better times ahead.
