DIY epoxy lenses🔍 Characterized with the nGauge #AFM🔬!
New video: making lenses out of epoxy youtu.be/mfAGivG9Koc I was originally working on mirrors but the process is slow, so I started multi-tasking and playing around with lens casting too. The results are almost usable too (if you squint)! 😅
The most mundane things can look so cool at the nanoscale. Even glass cleaner residue🤓
Replying to @icspicorp
It really does! Couldn't resist the urge and decided to render it out in 3D 🤩

Another awesome video from @BreakingTaps!
I made a microlens array! Wasn't the original plan; I was working on something else. But stumbled into an oddity while debugging, chased that thread and ended up with a technique to etch microlenses. They even (sorta) focus light! 😇 youtube.com/watch?v=1tf--Fy5…

I scanned a bunch of flat and smooth objects, and discovered that it's ironically rather hard to scan something without any features :) Pretty cool to see the differences in magnitude though! Gage block looks like a topo map of some mountains! youtube.com/watch?v=2cZ0XJWx…

1.2x1.2 μm scan of an opal, just look at those nanoparticles! Opals are such cool gemstones, much more interesting than boring ol' carbons in a diamond 😜 More scans of the opal in this week's Micrograph Monday: youtube.com/watch?v=2qpIkayV…

I'm sitting on a bunch of cool data/images that I've collected and really want to share it with folks! So I'm starting a new "Micrograph Monday" segment. Quick videos with minimal editing to show interesting AFM, optical or other instrumentation data :) youtube.com/watch?v=m0UK7LVS…

Excited that you have one in the shop!
I recently got my hands on an nGauge AFM from @icspicorp, so I built a "Macro-AFM" to help demonstrate how tapping-mode AFMs work. It even makes nice scans! youtube.com/watch?v=2Kv6KwAD…
The wait is finally over! We are thrilled to announce two new products to the nGauge #AFM product line-up. More info here: icspicorp.com/tips#dlc Sharp, diamond-like carbon tips These are our highest-resolution tips yet, offering <20 nm tip radius on a >1 μm spike.

Our diamond tips enable entirely new applications with the nGauge: high-resolution nanoparticle and nanostructure imaging, high-aspect ratio trenches and other demanding applications.

Wedge tips A unique sharpened cantilever design provides robustness, consistently and value. Ideal for general-purpose imaging, pre-screening samples, step heights and many other applications.
Something big is coming to ICSPI (but also something very, very small). We are bringing #AFM-on-a-chip to a new level of resolution. Stay tuned for the announcement on May 4!
We like to think so too! Awesome scans @BreakingTaps!
AFM IS SO COOL! Some scans of my selective silicon doping experiments from a while back. Lookit those ripples! Need to pull out my notes and start categorizing the different laser parameters
