Nothing humbles you like being good with computers and still forgetting the password you created yesterday.
Some cybersecurity content has convinced beginners they are “behind” because they haven't learned SIEM + pentesting + cloud + Python + malware analysis by 22.
Unpopular opinion: if your cybersecurity roadmap makes a beginner more confused after reading it, it's not a roadmap. It's a syllabus dump.
Beginner: “How do I get into cybersecurity?”
Internet: “Here are 19 certifications, 34 tools, Python, cloud, malware analysis, OSCP and apparently Kubernetes.”

Being friends with someone in cybersecurity means occasionally receiving “DON'T CLICK THIS” followed immediately by a link. 🫶
“You should spend less time online.”
Unfortunately, that is where my job, friends, entertainment, banking, food, existential crises, and calendar live.

One of my favorite phishing URLscan pivots: find a resource hash shared across otherwise unrelated pages. Suddenly "unrelated" becomes questionable.

If AI disappeared tomorrow, could you still conduct the threat investigation it helped you finish today?
AI Tip:
The skill worth building now isn't prompt engineering alone.
It's knowing enough about your domain to recognize when the generated answer shouldn't be trusted.
Don't ask AI "Who is behind this campaign?" and you've already nudged it toward finding someone.
Sometimes the better prompt is: "Is there enough evidence to attribute this at all?"
