Airbnb hosts are worse than realtors imo
We never service them
If youâre starting a cleaning business donât let their âcleaning frequencyâ fool you.
These are the cheapest people on gods green earth
its just bonkers the new policy @airbnb is trying to put in place. Putting the dishes in the dishwasher, taking out the trash, pulling the sheets off the bed....they are just standard things any normal person would do when staying at a house. Why wouldn't a host be allowed to say that?
One of our residential cleaning locations had a spike in lead to client conversion, the last 4 months.
We didnât change our sales process, so it was a bit surprising
This week I had our VA call every competitor in the city and get quotes.
Turns out almost all of them raised their prices. But We didnât.
Good reminder to keep a pulse on what your market is charging every few quarters
More jobs doesnât always mean your marketing/sales got better.
Sometimes it means youâre just too cheap.
lol prices gotta go up on Monday I guess
Looking back, one of the smartest things we did with our local SEO was legally setting up our DBAs so our GBP names naturally include our main service + city.
I have GBPs competing in the Map Pack against businesses with 200+ more reviews than us, and we still hold our own.
If youâre starting a home/local service business, donât treat your GBP like a simple directory listing.
Be strategic from day one.
A legitimate business name that naturally includes your service + city is the goal
You only get one first setup. Gotta use it wisely
If youâre just starting a business
Getting your foot in the door is worth more than squeezing every dollar out the deal
Itâs one thing to be busy and experienced enough to turn down work because it doesnât pay what you want.
But I see too many people turn down profitable work, with nothing else lined up, due to pride and âknowing their worthâ
Everybody pays their dues
I said this before.
Put your marketing and distribution strategy in the hands of shy little AI that doesnât want to break any rules đ
Youâre gonna get fried by the guys that have all the grey-hat tricks up their sleeves.
Iâm not too worried about AI when it comes to marketing and sales.
But everything else is up for grabs
One of my favourite subcontractors left last month to go out on his own and build his book of business with his wife. Was super excited for him!
But I found out today he reached out to one of the offices he was cleaning for us to try and take them for himself.
As a supporter of the free market, I respect the hustle lol. But as a friend, I feel a bit hurt đ
Luckily, our clients told us about it themselves.
This couldâve easily been a lost account if we had been lazy and let our subs own the client relationship.
Gotta always stay between your subs/employees and your clients.
That way, when things change, they trust you to bring in someone new rather than being married to the old sub or employee who left.
Phoneâs going on DND today while I navigate this betrayal lmao
Hereâs how I design our local Meta ad videos so leads see the offer & their city right away:
> Call out the city/service area
> Show the offer
Donât wait until the end to reveal the city/offer.
Most people will scroll away before knowing the ad is for them.
Video ads over static image ads for local home service businesses any day of the week.
Most home services are inherently satisfying to watch.
Lawn care? Watch the edges get trimmed.
Carpet cleaning? Dirty â clean.
Exterior cleaning? Watch a house get soft washed or a filthy window go spotless.
These businesses were made for video.
Even plumbers, HVAC companies, pest control, etc., where the work itself might not be as visually satisfying, can put the owner and crew on camera, introduce themselves to the community, and build trust.
I know static ads are easier to pump out.
But if youâre running ads for a home service business and video isnât your top focus, youâre fighting an uphill battle.
