Replying to @farhip
Surprising (& disappointing) our former colleague @jstein_sun doesn’t recognize that. Vital work is being done, and we need more of it, not trash talk. Because I believe that, I subscribed to the @washingtonsun practically the minute their paywall went up & wish them success.

No disrespect? 🤣
With no disrespect to my many many friends who continue to do excellent journalism at The Washington Post, Jeff Bezos has made abundantly clear that he cannot be trusted to own the flagship paper of the nation’s capital. Follow @washingtonsun

In May, The @WashingtonPost reported on the case of a Honduran woman whose 3-year-old son, Orlin, was killed after she was deported.
@mariasacchetti’s reporting examined inconsistencies in ICE’s narrative and the lack of safeguards for children of those removed from the country.
Days after that report, DHS granted Wendy Hernandez Reyes extraordinary humanitarian parole that allowed her to return to the U.S. to bury her son.

The seven-man CIA team, code-named JAWBREAKER, landed in the Panjshir Valley on Sept. 26, 2001, just 15 days after the 9/11 attacks, carrying millions of dollars in cash intended to help enlist and equip Afghan allies. cbsn.ws/3V3WjyG
Jeff Taylor, the ex-youth minister indicted on sex abuse charges, pleaded not guilty today in Alexandria federal court. A trial was set for February 2027. I spoke to him briefly after the arraignment--his first public remarks about the accusations. washingtonpost.com/investiga…
Taylor looked utterly disheveled. His shirt was untucked in the front and back, his face sunken, his pink tie loosened. “Nothing has captured the good I’ve done,” he said... "Once all these ugly things have been said about me, you can’t take it back.”

One of the best stories I have ever ever read. Sharing it today because there must be someone out there who hasn't read it yet. Trust me on this one: theatlantic.com/magazine/202…

The Washington Post says Trump's media ban is "a clear form of intimidation to silence coverage, stripping the public of information and threatening our democracy."

MS NOW said its journalists were denied access to the White House grounds Saturday, a day after President Trump said he would ban the outlet, as well as CNN and Politico, from the site.
