Japaul's profit tripled to ₦1.5bn, but the accounts raise questions
Japaul Gold and Ventures made ₦4.22bn of revenue in the nine months to September 30, 2026, up 59.1% from ₦2.66bn. Profit rose to ₦1.50bn from ₦0.50bn. Q3 alone brought in ₦705m of profit, against ₦76m a year earlier.
The business has changed shape. Dredging brought in ₦4.19bn, while offshore revenue fell to just ₦1.1m. Other income of ₦445m, mostly booked in Q3, made up about 30% of profit. The company also received ₦7.51bn from a private placement whose shares were issued in 2025. It put ₦5.0bn of that in a call account and spent ₦2.4bn on mining work.
Complicating the picture, though: cash collected from customers was only ₦2.0bn against ₦4.22bn of revenue, and operations used ₦613m of cash despite the profit. No income tax was charged on ₦1.5bn of profit. The notes show 9M 2025 revenue of ₦1.71bn, while the income statement shows ₦2.66bn. The balance sheet column is labelled June, not September. Cash ended the period at just ₦143m.
Why this matters: profit on paper is not the same as cash in the bank. These are unaudited management accounts with clear gaps. Before buying, it's worth waiting for clearer numbers or answers from the company.

“RIVERS STATE WILL WITNESS MAJOR PROJECTS” — REP. O. K. CHINDA
During his speech following his unveiling as the Rainbow Coalition’s candidate for the Rivers State governorship election scheduled for February 6, 2027, Rep. O. K. Chinda said that “Rivers State will witness MAJOR projects” under their administration.
You can hold on to that statement, because his words are ‘CAST IN STONE’
Rep. O. K. Chinda, as the member representing Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has facilitated and sponsored so many projects, some of which are: -
1. Reconstruction of All-Saints Model Primary School, Rumuokwurusi

20. Construction of Obio/Akpor Youth Development Centre
21. Installation of Street lights in some communities.
22. Construction of Akwu & Market Road, Elelenwo
23. Establishment of the Obio/Akpor Embassy House, Abuja
24. ETC.
Other projects are at advanced stages, which include;
1. The Skill and Craft Centre, Rumuolumeni Community
2. Construction of Shore Protection and Drainage for Erosion Control at Elder Ibekwe Aaron Close, Mgbuchi, Rukpokwu Town
3. Construction of Alhaji Estate Road, Rumuodomaya

5. Construction of Snr. Apst. Obochi Elendu Street, Rumueprikom Town
6. Construction of Nyeomanu Onuoha Road, Rumuepirikom Town
7. Women Development Centre, Elelenwo
8. ETC
This is without even counting his numerous skills acquisition trainings, youth development initiatives, and empowerment programmes designed to equip people with practical skills, promote self-reliance, and create economic opportunities.
So, when he said “Rivers State will witness MAJOR projects” under their administration, believe it because that is sacrosanct.
Let’s all support and prepare to vote for REP. O. K. CHINDA AND HON. MAJOR JACK for a total transformation of a Better and Greater Rivers State.
OK IS OKAY!
