Our hosts have made this free entry so, there’s no excuse not to come down and check out some new Leafe faces as well as, get reacquainted with some old ones!
See you there Leafe fans 💚

First of all, all Glory goes to God! 🙌🏿Talk is cheap. Year after year the disrespect was loud. @enniogonnella heard it all and stuck by me. The apology needs to be just as loud! 🤷🏿♂️

PLAY OFF FINALISTS 👀
Now the dust has settled, it’s time to give a few shout outs; First to the players, barely any preparation, barely any sleep, up at 5am after the game to, get back for work in the morning on the mainland. And yet, you still performed the way you did, you did us proud boys!
To Ennio and his coaching/management team, to lift and get the team ready the way you did, in the time you had was nothing short of incredible and against one of the best sides in the league.
To Jersey Bulls FC, unsurprisingly gracious in defeat, a classy club and fans that have always made us welcome, we look forward to facing you again, whenever and wherever that may be.
And finally, to our fans, due to time constraints (NOT Jerseys fault), we were only able to take an elite “Strike Team” of fans (thank you to those that could travel) to the semis. However, this Friday, the Leafe Army gets to march in full force to Thornton Heath as we take on Croydon Athletic for a place in the Isthmian Premier.
Match details to follow…..
First target achieved ✅
Play off secured 🔏
NEXT UP ‼️
And, having secured a play off spot (after our draw on Monday against Croydon Athletic), we now face League leaders Three Bridges FC at Church Road this Saturday. They go in search of 3 points to win the title and we go in search of 3 points to try to improve our play off position thus, gaining home advantage for (hopefully) both legs.
Three Bridges are formidable opposition, having sat at the top of the league for most of the season, they’ve been scoring for fun and have one of the best defensive records too.
A huge game for both teams with so much at stake, the leagues two top scoring teams as well as, two of the highest scoring teams in the country in Step 1-4 going head to head.
We need the Leafe Army in huge numbers for this one in what is, possibly the penultimate game of the season at Church Road. Turn up in your numbers, bring your friends, Romans and countrymen and make some noise for the boys 🗣️📣
Up the Leafe 💚

FT: EAST GRINSTEAD TOWN FC 0-8 AFC WHYTELEAFE
A clinical performance from the boys and many positives to take from that performance. Always nice when the goals get shared around.
Thank you to East Grinstead for the hospitality 🤝
⚽4-3-3 vs 4-4-2 Press
The single pivot’s positioning is key, not too deep, but between lines to connect the build up. The two n8s create contrast: one drops to help progression, the other times a late run into 3rd. These rotations stretch the 4-4-2’s double pivot. #Football

🤩 PLAYER OF THE MATCH 🤩
Our “Player of the Match” in our game against Leatherhead FC in the Velocity Cup First Round is Rotimi Oderinde.
An outstanding performance from the Leafe debutant, covered every blade of black crumb, tackles, distribution and a goal!

FT: AFC Whyteleafe 5-0 Chipstead FC
A complete performance from us sees us through to the next round of the FA Cup.
Best of luck to Chipstead for the forthcoming season, made chances themselves and were not as easy as the score line suggests to break down.
It’s good to be back !! 💪
☑️Breaking lines is a collective objective not just for the individual
Winger runs off the ball to stretch the defense, creating space for himself or the fullback. Fullback supports wide for overload. CB plays forward. No.10 finds pockets. Striker pins CBs to create space.
🔵Chelsea-From Inverted FBs to wingers dropping into the midfield
☑️Last time I watched Chelsea they used inverted FBs to build in a diamond shapes in possession
☑️In the Fluminense game, Nkunku occupied the space usually filled by the inverted fullback, maintaining the diamond
Inter used a similar tactical approach against Barcelona as in previous matches
However, what didn't work for them was their inability to contain the individual brilliance of Barca's players and their failure to track off ball runs into the box which led to both 1st & 2nd goal
