Lord, settle my heart.
Still my fears.
Help me to trust Your timing more than my impatience.
Lead me not with anxiety, but with the deep, gentle pull of Your peace.
I will wait for You, because I trust You.
Amen.

"This is what neighbor love looks like in practice: Realizing that you might not understand my pain but committing to taking it seriously. Perhaps then, love can cast out our fears of getting it wrong..." - Amy Kenny, My Body Is Not a Prayer Request

"The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness & self-control (Galatians 5:22). While these fruits are universally true for all people, how did they find expression, uniquely, in each local culture?" -Richard Twiss

Creator God, long ago you declared, “Behold! I am doing a new thing,” and we hear your words calling to us today.

ALT Creator God, long ago you declared, “Behold! I am doing a new thing,” and we hear your words calling to us today. In the wilderness, may we behold your presence–your goodness, your kindness, and your love with us. Awaken our imagination to perceive your hand at work, for you are a doing God. And in this sacred space, we trust that you are forming us.

ALT May we behold your gracious hand in our communities. Help us perceive the ways that our neighbors are working together for shalom for all. Show us those seeds that are sprouting all around us and in us, and how you are calling us to be an oasis together. Fill us with a holy imagination for a flourishing community marked by your grace, your justice, and your powerful presence.
"When we started CCDA, we did not want social responsibility, we did not want justice, and we did not want community action to be a tack on. We wanted it to come straight from the teaching of Jesus and of the Bible." Dr. John M. Perkins
