The past three years have not been easy. We took hard decisions. When I assumed office, we were owing monies to airlines, and they almost cancelled their flights to Nigeria. Our foreign reserves were nothing. We printed currencies as if there's no tomorrow. Rather than look back at the flaws of the past, I took the first lesson in accountancy. Assume the responsibility and liabilities of my predecessor. We rebuilt our tax system. I promised that I would stop the uncomfortable strike by ASUU, and that a four-year course will be a four-year course. Those liabilities have been redeemed today. - President Tinubu spoke today
Permit me a personal moment for my son, Seyi. I've watched what you started with City Boy, and I got some calls within the last few weeks asking me what Seyi is running for. I said he's running after his father. - President Tinubu thanked Seyi Tinubu for his support and for mobilising his young colleagues to support his re-election.

I take exception to that nonsense. Don't you dare say that about me. Reward who? Reward who? That's a civil servant. She's a level 17 officer and has worked in INEC all of her life. She was Lagos State admin secretary – didn't Peter Obi win there in 2023? - Segun Showunmi angrily reacted to a journalist who asked him if his wife, Oluyemi Titilayo Adeyemi-Showunmi, was rewarded due to his inclusion in the APC campaign council, after INEC redeployed her from Lagos Admin Secretary to head Electoral Operations ahead of 2027 presidential election.
