Filmic Pro was the go-to video camera app for a decade – until a sale to Bending Spoons and a shift to subscriptions changed everything.
This is the story of how it went from industry leader to afterthought almost overnight.👇🏻

The most consistent over the years in my testing and the best performer has been Beastgrip. The main negative with them is their lens line doesn’t offer as many options as other brands (and they really require a cage to use with a 37 mm mount).
Second would be ReeFlex, and third would probably be a tie between Sandmarc & Moment. However, Moment has been somewhat inconsistent the last few years.
And then there’s Shiftcam and Freewell, too. Both of those have had some very good glass, but then they’ve also been inconsistent. Though the most recent releases from Shiftcam (V.Series and X.Series) have maybe been the best I’ve used right now. And I love the V.series form factor (the main negative, though, is it’s a proprietary S lens mount).
But looking at it from a big picture and consistency over the years, Beastgrip has been the best for me.
Hey @iFilmmakers I know you have done a huge amount of testing on, seemingly, every conversion iPhone lenses, ever made. Well, maybe not ever-made but you know what I'm talking about. You have done way more technical testing than most. If you had to pick a single lens-maker, for getting your personal, firsthand vote, for "BEST" iPhone glass, who would it be? Additionally, who, in your humble opion, would get second and third place?

MoviePro now offering ProRes RAW internal recording with the new PVS…
Interesting. Haven’t noticed this with my 18 Pro Max (black), however, I do use a case.
Blackmagic has changed their app multiple times in the last few weeks, which TBH has been frustrating, but they have added some nice new features…

Getting a whiplash here using the new @Blackmagic_News app v3.5.2. It is SO much different than their previous version.
Actually, kind of makes me a little bit mad. Lol.
You now CANNOT record ProRes RAW internally… And, they REMOVED Cinematic Mode controls from within the app. Now you can get the CM metadata like using the native app or Final Cut camera app, but NO in app controls any more.
I just spent the better part of a week working on a video about it and was releasing that video today, but now I can’t. Ugh. The app has completely changed! Really wild.
IMPORTANT!
DO NOT UPDATE to Blackmagic v3.5.2 if you want to use the Pro Video Storage and ProRes RAW on a 17 Pro or 18 Pro.
For some reason they have removed it in the latest app update. It no longer works! So stay with v3.5.1.
Hopefully this is just a glitch and it’s not permanently removed.
@Blackmagic_News @rohit_bmd - What is the reason for this? I hope you’ll add it back in. Great feature.
