Happy Google at least sent an email that I exhausted 10k free reCAPTCHA requests, otherwise wouldn't have noticed. An old Invision Power Board blog I set up decades ago I guess was being used for something? At least I noticed before I lost too much money. Charged $18

Ended at like ~$86 owed after all of Sundays hits processed. Figured it out too. Guests are allowed to search forums given they solve a puzzle. Turned that on decades ago without understanding 198.251.68.213 sent 819,880 requests on Oct 17 & 18

Letting AI crawl the 819k requests, looks like signs of an Acunetix web scan that took 37 hours that did nothing but burn reCAPTCHA usage. Shame on me for not having sane burst blocks at NGINX level, but set this up like 15 years ago.

I went to a car wash. I vacuumed up my heart rate monitor while cleaning trunk. Left without cleaning my car mad at myself after staff stopped the entire vacuum line to check for me. Sorry random people at car wash who wondered why their vacuums stopped briefly RIP HRM Pro Plus

I enjoy this new "Archive PR" feature on GitHub. Have gotten like ~10 PRs advertising a new AI (or scam?) thing that I would close, but it would stick around as an advertising source even though no code merged. I can archive PRs now and they are gone from public view.

Tiny patch release for openai-php/client (v0.20.1) was just released. Just getting some good fixes released before the next feature release. Tons of improvements for missing types in streaming and support for a few more nullable properties. github.com/openai-php/client…

I always know when my "Limit to existing users" moderation expires on GitHub. Too bad there isn't an option for "forever". The instant it expires - the spam starts up again.

Tired of fastlane output that is massive? - no more duplicating massive output 2-3x times - no more internal stacktrace if a ShellError - reduce a ton to reduce confusion on an error Coming soon to the July release.

connortumbleson.com/2026/06/… Anubis saved the day. A sad 0.03% pass rate once deployed over 462k requests in a few hours. Server was melting going from 50k to 6.2mil hits a day for no reason. AI scrapers are insane.
