How to understand a massive Open Source codebase and make changes to it? ⚡
Over the years, I have developed a structured approach to browse and understand massive codebases and I just compiled my learnings along with a demo in a YouTube video.
In the video, I browse through a gigantic CPython codebase, build it from scratch and make my first change to it. Throughout the video, I have explained my thought process that you can adopt to understand any codebase in the world!

Semester 1: My life would be sorted if I get an amazing CGPA and a good placement.
Semester 2: My life would be sorted if I get into the competitive programming club of IIIT Delhi
Semester 3: My life would be sorted if I become a Candidate master on codeforces
Semester 4: My life would be sorted if I get an internship at Google. Got Goldman Sachs instead.
Semester 5: My life would be sorted if I become a Master on Codeforces.
Semester 6: My life would be sorted if I scale up TLE Eliminators and my content creation game.
Internship time: My life would be sorted if I get a PPO and an offer from Google later on. Yes I was obsessed with Google. Not anymore though.
Semester 7: My life would be sorted if I get some great full time offer off-campus. I was obsessed with companies like Codenation.
Semester 8: My life would be sorted if I scale up TLE Eliminators.
Guess what... my life will never be sorted. This is known as the Arrival Fallacy. The key to real happiness is appreciating what you have achieved so far and only aspire (not get obsessed) for more.
