4) Awakening takes a different approach: price downside protection upfront in the options market, without interim liquidation.
Its cost is embedded in the fixed rate. Settlement happens at maturity, so a temporary price wick alone does not force collateral to be sold.
3) Liquidation protects lenders by closing undercollateralized positions. But it makes the borrower’s outcome depend on every price point during the loan—not only the collateral value at maturity.
One violent price path can permanently sell long-term collateral.
2) On Binance, BTC fell 12.6% in just 10 minutes around 20:50 UTC.
For a liquidation-based loan, a move this fast is not merely volatility. It can push collateral through a threshold before a borrower has time to respond—or before the market has time to recover.
1) Oct. 10, 2025 was crypto’s largest liquidation event: more than $19B in derivatives positions were liquidated across 1.6M traders in 24 hours.
The scale was market-wide. The speed was visible venue by venue.
Morpho Midnight made fixed-rate, fixed-maturity credit composable.
Hyperloop builds on that foundation and changes the protection layer: each loan opens with a maturity-matched put, moving downside protection to origination and removing interim liquidation.
No health check. No price-triggered margin call. No liquidator before maturity.
This removes interim liquidation risk, not smart-contract, maturity-oracle, settlement, or PAT-source risk.

At maturity: min(S, K) + max(K − S, 0) = K
Collateral value plus the put payoff covers the protected strike value. The lender does not need an interim liquidation engine to enforce that payoff.
Each loan opens with downside protection: a put aligned with the collateral, strike, notional, and maturity.
If the option attribution does not match the market, the loan does not open.
Fixed-term borrowers should not lose long-term collateral because of a temporary price move.
Awakening is fixed-rate, fixed-maturity credit without interim liquidation.
No health check. No price-triggered margin call. No liquidator before maturity.
This removes interim liquidation risk, not smart-contract, maturity-oracle, settlement, or PAT-source risk.
