You romanticize the future rich version of you but refuse to kill the current version that needs approval, perfection, and instant results.
You don’t have a money problem. You have a self-worth problem. Deep down you don’t believe you deserve more, so you unconsciously block it.
holy grail
“We rarely want things for what they are.
We want them in relation to the people around us.”
You understand this… you understand persuasion
Today I’m revealing the real reason people buy most of what they buy.
The reason they’d never admit it to, because they’re not even aware they’re thinking it.
It’s the one single insight that made me so effective at writing copy in the spirituality niche, and it works in every other market too, as long as you’re not selling painkillers.
In truth, most people who buy a tarot reading, an astrology chart, or a numerology report are not attached to the method. They don’t care about the cards, the stars, or the numbers themselves. These just happen to deliver what they’re really here for.
And what they’re really here for is a feeling… One they’d never admit out loud…
The feeling of having an edge.
A secret advantage over the general population. The sense that they can see one move ahead than everyone around them.
That feeling is what they’re really buying. The cards, the stars, or the numbers is just how it gets delivered.
This explains why the JP Morgan quote goes viral every few months: “Millionaires don’t use astrology. Billionaires do.”
People don’t want the boring answer. They don’t want to be told that joining the elite requires connections or capital. They don’t want to be told that success requires hard work, perfect timing, and a bit of luck.
They’d much rather believe there’s a shortcut the people at the top are using, and maybe, just maybe, they could get their hands on it…
But the thing about having an edge is that it only exists as long as other people don’t have it.
A secret is not a secret if everyone knows it. And being ahead means there’s someone behind you.
We rarely want things for what they are.
We want them in relation to the people around us.
A good salary feels amazing until your entire neighborhood starts earning more, just like a big house feels big until you see a bigger one.
Nothing we want has a fixed value, it’s all measured against the people around us.
And that is true far past tarot, astrology, or numerology. The product changes, but what people are really paying for never does.
What they’re really paying for is the feeling of having a little more than the person next to them.
It’s funny, but the only reason you keep failing is because the same stories of failure run through your mind every single day. Pause and switch the stories you tell yourself
You get rich by multiplying money. Not by saving money
Making coffee at home saves you $5 but takes 20 minutes. That's $15/hour.
Meal prepping Sunday saves $40 but takes 3 hours. That's $13/hour.
Driving across town for cheaper gas saves $4 and takes 30 minutes. That's $8/hour.
Now flip it.
A DTC brand pays you $200 to create 10 static ads. Takes maybe 2 hours in Canva. That's $100/hour.
One afternoon setting up Facebook ads for a local business pays $1,500. Maybe 6 hours of work. That's $250/hour.
One Upwork project you knocked out over a weekend pays $800 in 4 hours. That's $200/hour.
You will never coupon your way to wealth. The math doesn't work. Go get one client and you'll make more in a weekend than a year of meal prep saved you.
The goal is to reach a point where your audience wants your opinion on everything happening in your niche.
You become the go-to person to validate a new idea or call out a dumb one. That’s real authority.
Getting paid for the things you’d do for free is the best kind of business.
