Buddy is a low-budget indie movie that has basically exploded organically through word of mouth over the last two weeks.
The comparison to Niu Lai might sound like a lazy thesis at first, but the parallels are honestly pretty insane. Tiny budget, character starts escaping the movie itself, internet obsession takes over, and the audience basically becomes the marketing engine.
Buddy already has its own TikTok account (tiktok.com/@buddy.the.unicor…) pulling millions of views. Even the memes, stickers, and reaction images people are making in the comments are getting tens of thousands of likes.
If you’re actually tapped into internet culture right now, it’s hard to scroll your FYP without seeing Buddy somewhere.
Meanwhile the coin is less than two days old and has just been chopping around sub-$100k while diamond hands slowly accumulate.
IMO it’s wildly mispriced relative to the actual virality and mindshare the character already has.
