The President's threat against Iran is genocidal, even by the strictest definition. It may be bluster, but that does not change our obligation. To work, a threat must be credible, and we must act accordingly. We attacked Iran. Any order to escalate our attack with nuclear weapons would clearly be immoral, and must therefore be rejected by every person in the chain of command. Anyone who carried such an order forward would become immediately complicit. That is the lesson of history, and those who fail it will be judged harshly by it--and by God. We can't have a Commander in Chief who threatens civilians, idly or in earnest. The President must be removed from office, for the good of the Republic, and the world.

An American president threatening the death of an ancient civilization is in some ways the end of the 250-year moral experiment of a constitutional republic that the framers saw as a model for all mankind.

Tucker Carlson on Trump’s Easter Sunday post: “You’re tweeting the F-word on Easter morning promising the murder of civilians? This is vile. This is evil. On every level. A promise to use US military to destroy civilian infrastructure that people use every day? That is a war crime. A moral crime. Innocent people will die. That is unacceptable. It is immoral. It can never be justified.”

🚨 Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian shares a message addressed to the American people. It reads in full: “In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful To the people of the United States of America, and to all those who, amid a flood of distortions and manufactured narratives, continue to seek the truth and aspire to a better life Iran—by this very name, character, and identity—is one of the oldest continuous civilizations in human history. Despite its historical and geographical advantages at various times, Iran has never, in its modern history, chosen the path of aggression, expansion, colonialism, or domination. Even after enduring occupation, invasion, and sustained pressure from global powers—and despite possessing military superiority over many of its neighbors—Iran has never initiated a war. Yet it has resolutely and bravely repelled those who have attacked it. The Iranian people harbor no enmity toward other nations, including the people of America, Europe, or neighboring countries. Even in the face of repeated foreign interventions and pressures throughout their proud history, Iranians have consistently drawn a clear distinction between governments and the peoples they govern. This is a deeply rooted principle in Iranian culture and collective consciousness—not a temporary political stance. For this reason, portraying Iran as a threat is neither consistent with historical reality nor with present-day observable facts. Such a perception is the product of political and economic whims of the powerful—the need to manufacture an enemy in order to justify pressure, maintain military dominance, sustain the arms industry, and control strategic markets. In such an environment, if a threat does not exist, it is invented. Within this same framework, the United States has concentrated the largest number of its forces, bases, and military capabilities around Iran—a country that, at least since the founding of the United States, has never initiated a war. Recent American aggressions launched from these very bases have demonstrated how threatening such a military presence truly is. Naturally, no country confronted with such conditions would forgo strengthening its defensive capabilities. What Iran has done—and continues to do—is a measured response grounded in legitimate self-defense, and by no means an initiation of war or aggression. Relations between Iran and the United States were not originally hostile, and early interactions between the Iranian and American people were not marred with hostility or coup d’état—an illegal American 1953 intervention. The turning point, however, was the intervention aimed at preventing the nationalization of Iran’s own resources. That coup disrupted Iran’s democratic process, reinstated dictatorship, and sowed deep distrust among Iranians toward U.S. policies. This distrust deepened further with America’s support for the Shah’s regime, its backing of Saddam Hussein during the imposed war of the 1980s, the imposition of the longest and most comprehensive sanctions in modern history, and ultimately, unprovoked military aggression—twice, in the midst of negotiations—against Iran. Yet all these pressures have failed to weaken Iran. On the contrary, the country has grown before the Islamic Revolution by 30% stronger in many areas: literacy rates have tripled—from roughly 30% to over 90% today; higher education has expanded dramatically; significant advances have been achieved in modern technology; healthcare services have improved; and infrastructure has developed at a pace and scale incomparable to the past. These are measurable, observable realities that stand independent of fabricated narratives. [continues below]

How many times do the goalposts have to move before people stop treating each failure as some unique exception and start recognizing the pattern? It is always the same excuse in a different costume. They would have fixed it, but the timing was wrong. They meant well, but the other side blocked them. They wanted change, but the system was too entrenched. After a while, you have to stop calling that bad luck and start calling it what it is…a script. We are fortunate to live in this country relative to much of the world, but that should not make us naive. Gratitude is not the same thing as delusion. There is no superhero coming. There is no candidate riding in to save the public from the machine that put them there in the first place. By the time someone reaches that office, they have already been filtered, financed, negotiated, and made acceptable to the interests that actually matter. The faces change. The slogans change. The emotional branding changes. But the underlying arrangement stays remarkably intact. The public keeps waiting for a savior, while power keeps rewarding people who were bought long before they were ever sworn in.

Great article. I agree with the analysis of the war so far, and the severity of the event aligns closely with my broader macro and geopolitical outlook. We differ slightly in our interpretation of power dynamics, but this is among the most insightful analyses you’ll find, especially compared to the puppet-like influencers and propaganda that dominate much of the commentary.

You know MAGA is dead when the president calls Joe Kent “weak” a U.S. Army Special Forces Green Beret with 11 combat deployments, including Iraq, and a Gold Star husband whose wife died in Syria serving our country. while he calls Mark Levin a “great American patriot.” a unhinged, lunatic, genocide denier, who calls Catholic women “POS” Trump destroyed MAGA.

After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today. I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby. It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC. May God bless America.

Under President Trump, U.S. Military servicemen and women are being killed and injured, reportedly at higher numbers than we are being told and innocent children were killed at a school in Iran by U.S. bombs. The price of oil is skyrocketing, tankers are being bombed, and today the President released half of our Strategic Oil Reserves to try to stop gas prices from going out of control. And with all this, President Trump, who promised Americans “no more foreign wars, no more regime change” spent the day in Kentucky telling approximately 500 Fox News brainwashed boomers (most not even from the district) that Massie is bad because Massie didn’t vote for Trump’s COVID lockdowns and COVID bailouts and COVID vaccines in 2020 and because Massie (and me) voted to release the Epstein files which embarrassed a bunch of the President’s friends. Maybe it has something to do with him not believing he’s going to heaven, which is extremely concerning by the way! By the time Trump’s presidency and wars are over, we will be nearing $60 trillion dollars in debt and the only man in Washington that will have voted NO to all the insanity will be Thomas Massie.

🚨🇺🇸🇮🇱 AIPAC GOT CAUGHT Max Blumenthal obtained leaked audio of AIPAC's CEO admitting they groomed Marco Rubio and Mike Waltz from the beginning. "They are now our lifelines inside the administration." That's an unregistered foreign lobbyist describing Trump's national security team. "This does not serve American interests. Trump did it for one reason. Israeli influence." @MaxBlumenthal
🚨🇺🇸🇮🇷 GAS IS ABOVE $8 IN LOS ANGELES. AND IT'S ONLY WEEK TWO Max Blumenthal says Iran doesn't even need to mine the Strait of Hormuz. The Houthis blocked the entire Red Sea by targeting a few ships. Insurers pulled out. Shipping stopped. Iran just needs to survive 2 to 3 more weeks. Trump was already below 37% approval before this war started. Everyone says Israel has the right to defend itself. Max Blumenthal says it doesn't have the ability to. Not without America. @MaxBlumenthal

So let’s see if I got this right, the president of the United States is now publicly admitting that three months ago he had a secret deal with America’s defense contractors to quadruple weapons production? Before we even knew there was gonna be a war w Iran, allegedly? More and more evidence is piling up that we have a monarch who has dictatorial control of the armed forces and the levers of production in this country, no matter what Congress or the American people have to say about it. This war is 100% against the constitution and violates every international and American law you can imagine, and now you see he is also bypassed the system of checks and balances in the economic realm, and literally does whatever he wants to do regardless of the law, and no one will hold him account for anything. He is literally a free agent, unbound by the rule of law or the US constitution. I promise you, Friends, this will have a bad result for our country.
