Three 40-foot containers = 120ft. The Swedish startup wants to turn them into local robot factories for batches from 100 units. Brands keep their component suppliers and pay per finished product, with robots handling assembly, inspection and packing. Animation: 120ft

Tesla has pulled the Optimus Gen 3 renders from its Android app. Version 4.61.6-4647, out this week, no longer includes any of the nine robot images. That covers the Gen 3, gold and original Optimus. The Gen 3 files first showed up in 4.60.0 on Aug 27.
Tesla’s Android app has contained Optimus renders labeled “gen3” since August 27. We compared four app builds: higher-resolution versions arrived September 5, and the latest release contains the same files. Compared with the gold variant, the “gen3” render covers the exposed mechanisms around the hips and lower legs. A glimpse of the next Optimus? Possibly. These are app assets—not confirmation of the final hardware or a working robot interface.

Boston Dynamics says building an Atlas used to be “quite an event.” Now it takes about a day. The goal: an hour next year, then minutes in later years. A look inside the shop floor where the company is working to turn humanoid prototypes into repeatable builds.

Shanghai wants 8,000 humanoid robots working in factories by 2028. The target is part of a broader manufacturing push that includes 500 advanced factories and 2,000 AI applications. It’s a deployment goal. Not an order for 8,000 robots.

One of the biggest challenges in robotics is combining fine motor control with the ability to generalize to unfamiliar tasks. Nature Will's @naturewill new foundation model Natura-1 aims to tackle both, combining dexterous manipulation, zero-shot generalization, and long-horizon execution. Trained on nearly 1 million hours of first-person human data, the model is designed to bring more adaptable manipulation capabilities to real-world robots.

Introducing Natura-1, our first general foundation model for the physical world. It follows natural-language instructions zero-shot and turns them into action with dexterous hands. Natura-1 is a 50-billion-parameter mixture-of-experts (MoE) model pretrained on one million hours of egocentric human experience. On top of this foundation, we conduct efficient post-training on a limited amount of robot data to adapt pretrained world knowledge to dexterous manipulation, yielding a model that generalizes to a wide range of unseen scenarios. Natura-1 follows complex natural-language instructions zero-shot, reasoning through spatial constraints, multi-object relationships, and negative conditions. It can also autonomously carry out long and continuous workflows to perform long-horizon executions. Natura-1 provides early evidence that generalization—and even emergent behavior—can coexist with the complexity of dexterous hands. Further progress depends on the full stack: infrastructure for faster training and real-time inference, pretraining data at greater scale and coverage, and models that transfer to robots with less adaptation. We expect it to be a long-term research and engineering effort.

Agility co-founder Jonathan Hurst, asked by analysts to name his competitors: "Almost none of the humanoid robots that exist compete with us. They have two legs and two arms maybe, but they aren't picking up bins... They don't have any safety." The one rival he named: Boston Dynamics.

Robotics has a distribution problem. Today, Ultra is announcing $62M in funding to solve it, including a $50M Series A led by @hiFramework. We believe that deployment is the bottleneck in robotics. It’s relatively easy to make a robot look impressive in a controlled environment. It’s much harder to put a robot into the open world, make it useful, keep it running, earn the trust of the people working alongside it, and do that over and over and over again. So that’s what we’re focusing on.

Ultra has raised a $50M Series A, bringing its announced funding to $62M. Its warehouse robots pack orders using Physical Intelligence’s AI, with humans stepping in when needed. Ultra says they’ve already packed more than 500,000 orders. 📽️: Ultra
