This looks amazing! I'm excited for this release!
Still working on the @hueforge color lithophane plugin, but here my first one using the @sunluofficial cmyk bundle. Came out pretty well I think, though I need to reprint the holder

We love you too Danny! It did make it harder to go fishing though.
A lot of you asked why the @hueforge crew didnt go to philly this year. Ill take the blame, it was so I could make a video about printing a boat on a boat🔥 youtu.be/1WJcEvfVFMc?is=Wk28…

It might have taken a week longer than planned, but HueForge 0.9.4.4 is released! (Release notes here open.substack.com/pub/hornan…)) I also have bugfix and feature updates for ColorSmith, HugeForge, FlatForge, and ColorDrop (not 2.0). I can't tell you how much better life is with LAN Sync and Match Fix, two headline new features of this release. Go download your copy from shop.thehueforge.com

I think people underestimate what soaking in a subject matter for years does to your ability to solve problems in it. I started HueForge without an inkling of color theory or of the variety of color models out there. I had NO idea how hard it would be to get a computer to tell two colors apart. Now - with the help of coding tools and over 3 years of work in the space - I can solve problems in hours that I just didn't have a framework to solve in the past at all. It was the earned expertise that suddenly makes old, intractable problems, well, easy to formulate and solve. None of my coding agents have ever suggested these solutions, the quality of the request for complex tasks is super important, but without them, I would not be able to experiment and develop novel solutions (well novel to me) to problems that my user's have had for years. It's a crazy new world in software, but experience still matters a WHOLE lot.

Finally added a feature I wanted! The ability to reorder your filaments to match your printer ahead of time. Yes you can remap them, but it's way easier to import them matching the existing order. I'm excited!
🎉 3MF Export 1.1.0 for HueForge: release notes 3MF Export 1.1.0 opens your project in the slicer you exported for, and lets you choose which slicer slot each filament loads into. It also centers models on more printers. ✨ New features 🚀 Open in the slicer you chose: Open 3MF after export now launches the slicer you exported for, not whichever app your computer links to .3mf files. If your slicer isn't found, you're asked to locate it once. On Linux, Flatpak installs of Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer and PrusaSlicer are found too. 🎨 Choose the filament order: the new Filament Order row has an Edit… button for picking which slicer slot each filament loads into. Your order is kept until you change filaments or open a different project, and Reset returns it to HueForge's order. 💡 A one-time tip explains the Open 3MF after export option. 🛠️ Improvements 📁 Safer file names: project names are cleaned up before they become file and folder names, including trailing spaces, characters Windows doesn't allow, and reserved names such as PRN. The 3MF is saved in the same folder HueForge uses. 📐 Bed-fit warning follows Rotate 90 Degrees: the "too large for the bed" warning updates as soon as you turn rotation on or off. ⚡ The Export 3MF dialog opens faster: about five times faster the first time, and almost instantly after that. 🐛 Fixes 🎯 Models are centered on the bed for Flashforge Adventurer 5M, 5M Pro and A5, and for imported PrusaSlicer-family profiles with an offset bed. 🛒 Get it: shop.thehueforge.com/pages/3… 📖 Docs and support: support.3mfexport.com #HueForge #3DPrinting #BambuStudio #OrcaSlicer #PrusaSlicer

Sometimes that last one gets away but it doesn't really matter.
Starting Day 5 of Laketopia with some early morning fishing. Hope you all have a good Sunday 🔥

I made the choice this year to take some time off as relax with the people that help me at shows the rest of the year. I will miss everyone going to Philly this weekend, but I needed a break, so I took it with some of my friends I made 3D Printing. Have a great @3DPrintopia and post lots of pictures!
I took a wrong turn and ended up at LakeTopia with @hueforge

Have you download the free ColorSmith plugin for HueForge? If not, why not? shop.thehueforge.com/pages/c… Check out the other plugins while you are there. HugeForge is free too.

I can't believe I forgot to mention that it is free!
ColorSmith Plugin is out! Get it at shop.thehueforge.com/pages/c… Available for Window, macOS and Linux - Requires HueForge v0.9.4.3 or later to run. I'll try and get a full Devlog released this weekend but I've got to get on the road fairly early tomorrow so details will have to wait. Meanwhile - have at it and I'd love to get your feedback on what features you like, features you want, and bugs you find. Thanks for your patience!

I'm still working on colorsmith.app and hope for a release of the HueForge Plugin this week. Mostly working documentation and last minute changes. The thing that MIGHT slow it down is if I need to release HueForge v0.9.4.4 to support it fully.

This comes at a good time. I managed to snag a B250 for right at $200 and have most of the hardware I need for this build. I've also been wondering why no one is pushing air through the fins like they were clearly designed for so finally someone built a case with that in mind. A $30 cooler and some thermal compound are pretty easy to add to the BOM.
My unique BC250 case design is now up on @printablescom if anyone wants to get their hands on it: printables.com/model/1834854…

For anyone wondering about when the ColorSmith plugin is coming out. I'm guessing next week at this point. As much fun as I've been having making cool new tools and features (and webpages), I hit some burnout end of last week and didn't work much for the past 5 days, played some games, watched some TV, hung out with friends, cleaned the basement. Basically just didn't work on work for 5 days. I feel a lot better. Pay attention to yourself. Content creators and self-employed creators can absolutely love what they are doing until they suddenly don't want to do it anymore. Taking breaks after milestones is something I've learned I need to do. Take care of yourself out there.

🚀 HueForge 3MF Export Plugin v1.0.9 is out -shop.thehueforge.com/pages/3… 🎨 Smarter multi-color prints. Filament-change pauses now match physical reality — one AMS/MMU swap = one pause, regardless of how many color changes that swap covers. A 7-color print on a 4-slot AMS used to pause 3 times mid-print. Now it pauses exactly once, right before the swap. 🔄 New "Rotate HueForge 90°" checkbox in the export dialog. Rotates your HueForge(s) 90° inside the 3MF so you don't have to re-orient the print in your slicer after export. ✨ Preset quality. Standardized top, bottom, and infill patterns across every shipped preset. Per-pair Bambu/Orca flush volumes — purge is now computed from the actual filament colors on each side of a swap. Dark → dark uses less purge than dark → white. 🖨️ 10 more OrcaSlicer Bambu presets: A1, A1 mini, H2D, H2S, P1P, P1S, P2S, X1, X1 Carbon, X2D. The full Bambu lineup is now available on Orca — same coverage Bambu Studio has had. 💡 Two one-time tips on first launch: how to set 3MF as your default output format, and how to set your OS's default .3mf handler. Both dismissible and remembered. ⚠️ Better error messages. "Can't write here" now surfaces in the 3MF Export dialog instead of failing silently. 📋 Session panel polish. The 3MF Export session panel now tells you why it's inactive with a plain-language banner, and auto-activates the 3MF panel when you clear the Use STL Output option.
