Pakistan-Iran Border Closure
#Iran says neighboring #Pakistan has “unilaterally suspended” cross-border trade, and that Tehran is following up on the matter through phone calls with Islamabad. “Let us refrain from passing judgments or speculating about intentions,” FM spokesperson @IRIMFA_SPOX told reporters Tuesday.
“We have been informed that certain technical issues need to be addressed and that efforts are underway to resolve them,” he added, emphasizing that Iran’s relationship with Pakistan “is an excellent one, with a very significant history."

I sometimes take dance classes at the gym for cardio. I mentioned that in my group chat. In a completely unrelated discussion, a guy in the chat used that as a basis to imply that I could be considered improper because I take dance classes and don’t cover my hair. He literally asked, “Proper larkian kon hoti hain? Nangey sar ke saath dance classes lenay waali larkian?” If this was not an attack on my character, what was it? I can expect this kind of a comment from a jaahil mullah, a wife-beating misogynist or an uneducated villager with no exposure. But these words came from someone who’s educated and has seen the world. I don’t know what to say.

The UAE is waging an online war on Islam and Muslims, deploying an army of influencers, propagandists and social media operatives to demonise Islamic beliefs, undermine Muslim political activism and reshape how Islam is understood and practised.
Under the guise of combating the Muslim Brotherhood and so-called “radical Islam”, Abu Dhabi’s campaign goes far beyond targeting a political movement. Its critics argue that the real objective is to marginalise normative Islam, silence politically conscious Muslims and promote a sanitised, depoliticised version of the faith that serves the interests of the Emirati regime and its Israeli allies.
In this explosive One Nation Media explainer, we expose the influencers, narratives and political agenda behind the UAE’s online war on Islam and Muslims.

Interesting to note that neither Zia nor Begum Zia make any bones about shaking hands with members of the opposite sex in their 1982 visit to the US.
