Exact date and location are unknown. Best guess is sometime after their April 15, 1953 wedding, early to mid-1950s.
Maybe celebrating one of the Cups — 1954 or 1955.

The Howe Foundation contributed $10,000 to Unified Special Hockey of Maine alongside other partners.
Impact: 2 new goalie helmets + 13 full sets of loaner gear delivered, and 11 adjustable sleds now in production for full-ice games this season.
Helping grow the game for all.
A message from the Howe Family:
This Friday, we join partners, family & friends in Windsor/Detroit for the ribbon cutting of the Gordie Howe International Bridge.
Gordie always believed in bringing people and communities together. (Cont.)
Seeing this bridge bear his name fills our family with immense pride and gratitude.

The hockey world mourns the loss of Alex Delvecchio, a true gentleman of the game. A longtime teammate and close friend of Gordie, Colleen, and the entire Howe family, Alex will be deeply missed. (1/2)
The NHL Alumni Association is deeply saddened to learn that Alex Delvecchio has passed away at the age of 93.
Making his NHL debut on March 25, 1951, Alex played every one of his 1,550 NHL games with the Detroit Red Wings, registering 1,281 points and winning three Stanley Cups (1952, 54-55). He only missed 43 games throughout his career and was well-known for his gentlemanly style of play, winning the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy on three occasions.
After centreman Sid Abel was moved to the Blackhawks ahead of the 1951-52 season, Alex found himself between Gordie Howe and Ted Lindsay, thus forming the second iteration of the famous Production Line.
Alex served as team captain from 1962 to 1973, and upon his retirement in 1974, served as head coach from 1973 to 1976. A prominent member of the Red Wings Alumni, Alex was often seen attending various community events and supporting charitable causes.
We send our heartfelt condolences to Alex’s family, friends, and former teammates during this incredibly difficult time.
On behalf of the Howe family, we want to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Ovi and his family for this incredible milestone. Watching you break a record we once thought would stand forever is truly impressive. (cont.)
Back in 1963, Gordie surpassed Richard’s mark, and then 31 years later in 1994, his dear friend Wayne—a great friend of our family—took it further. Now, 31 years on again, you’ve gone beyond Wayne and we couldn’t be more thrilled for you. (cont.)
Very honored that Colleen will be inducted into the Michigan Sports HOF. The Howe family is elated to attend this event and celebrate Mrs Hockey's legacy alongside so many other wonderful and extraordinary nominees!
The Class of 2023!
Join us, as we celebrate the careers and accomplishments of this extraordinary group at the Induction Event, presented by Meijer, Thursday, September 14 at MotorCity Casino Hotel.
