Då planerar vi våra nästa inköp. Det blir dedikerad CPU på nya noder. En hel server kostar nu lika mycket som 128G ram så det börjar kännas lite dumt att inte ge dedikerade vCPUs på alla vps:er.

Preferably you would create an API token and connect it with the MCP using only the scopes you want. That way Claude will never see or be able to use the pay_invoice tool. If you want Claude to only manage DNS? Give it only DNS scopes (it saves on tokens too!)

Right, so claude only know about the tools that the api key scope has. Give it only dns related scopes and it will not know about the other tools, such as pay_invoice, because the MCP server does not let Claude know they exist.

It work like so: If you create an API key with only scopes to read:dns write:dns for example. The agent only get those tools (as to save on context window, all use 20k). If you were to give it write:all read:all then it would have all 80 tools available including pay_invoice.

The MCP does come with a dedicated pay_invoice agent tool if you give it the permission to do so when creating the API key: (same scopes as developer.hostup.se/endpoint…). The core idea is to use PAYG VPS for example that don't require payment. But, it can place order, and pay it.

Core idea is allowing agentic workflows similar to this say: "Spin up a Pay-As-You-Go VPS, set up a web server, and point my DNS record to it." It can via mcp create a vm with an ssh key it can generate, connect the dns and then setup the project on its own.

It is very unlike our native AI agent that is on our website when logged in or the one in Telegram each "write" action so to say require approval. More friction. The nice part here with mcp one can just tell agent to spin up PAYG VPS, and connect DNS to it and it can do it.

If you use the MCP server, only very dangerous actions need approval first via the website. For modifying DNS records and other day-to-day actions, it relies on your claude auto approval etc or not. We thought it is best since in Claude and Codex you already have the /approve

Little demo screenshots from the cloud.hostup.se/assistant - it would work in similar way using the MCP via Claude. It can fetch DNS record, and have tool to manage them. Similarly, it can restart VPS, take backup and other actions. Disruptive action like reinstall require SSO.

It will provide SSO link to the invoice where you can complete the final payment step. If card is added it's basically just clicking on "pay" button. API call exist to charge card as well so it could be automated if need be. The MCP come with 80 reliable tools to do actions.

We can't seen anyone use Claude or ChatGPT the mcp was released just yesterday but build on same backend as our cloud.hostup.se/assistant and telegram integration. Same tools just exposed via MCP to have the ability to do it via Claude/ChatGPT etc.

Routed IPv6 is no longer tied to any single VM! Just like how you can move IP between VM easily, one thing that remained was the routed IPv6. You can now for your requested /48, split it as you wish, and route say an entire /64 to a VM of your choice, and change the routing.

You can now for any existing VPS, choose to restore a backup from any of your other VPS:es. It also includes those that have been deleted. If you accidentially delete one of your VM, or forget to pay an invoice and it get terminated. You can now buy a new VPS and restore backup.

More cross-vps actions now available While you previously could restore backup from one VPS to a new VPS, so to say clone a backup to a new VPS without touching the existing one.

Att ge dedikerad CPU är inte det som kostar längre utan det är minne & lagring. Om någon skulle behöva massvis med CPU är det bara att höra av sig (blir då flera vCPU:er inte hög GHz) Men så fort priset på DDR5 går ned refreshar vi hela flottan med AMD Turin lineup.
