Arrived at Marseille airport today immigration process completed in 10 minutes and this is the first time I’ve been to an EU country since the introduction of the EEES.

Went to a windy tent in Newquay to enjoy the Cornish Proms lots of people waving union flags and Cornish flags to rousing renditions of land of hope and glory etc nobody was offended or intimidated it was a great night celebrating our country

Lovely to catch up with old friend and Swedish speedway legend @Perj66 last night in Cornwall. He’s on a visit to catch up with @brianbutterfi13 and @DonnaMButters. Per’s son Dennis and good friend from Poland Jak all joined us for dinner and a good chat about the old days

This day 14 years ago was the worst day of my life. My special friend Dave Allan died in an accident at Millbrook proving ground. I was in charge of the event and I wonder every day if there was something I could have done differently that could have prevented the accident

I spent hours stood on a grass bank looking over the wreckage where Dave was still lying in the vehicle. That memory haunts me everyday. Dave was my friend a great son, husband and father a talented race driver and powertrain engineer taken way too soon. I miss you my friend RIP

Wedding anniversary today 39 years of wedded bliss to my wonderful wife. Uncanny how we haven’t changed a bit since our wedding day

Dave Allan would have been 61 today this is him on his way out onto the Nordschleife in a hot Group N Civic.There would definitely have been a few drinks if he was still with us but sadly we lost Dave in 2012 so all we have are memories of all the good times miss you buddy

Is it just me or is the skills test on @MasterChefUK the professionals absolutely meaningless it is totally ignored by the judges when deciding who to send home so the chef’s might as well completely cock it up then just concentrate on their signature dish

In Swindon for a couple of days so took some time out to visit Dave Allan’s memorial and put some fresh flowers there. RIP my friend
