Pls can we address the entire culture that allowed Russell Brand to get away with his lecherous behaviour, over and over again, even going so far as to write about his assaults of women in his books, reference them in his shows? Men like this still exist, hiding in plain sight

I keep thinking about the fact he killed her while their children had friends round for a sleepover - a man prepared to murder his wife with not just his own kids but other people's kids around must've been heinously abusive and escalating for a long time...
The husband of a GP found dead at her house near the Sandringham estate during a sleepover for her children has been charged with her murder.
Mark Cain, 45, is accused of the murder of his wife Hannah, also 45, who was pronounced dead at their family home in the village of Dersingham, Norfolk, on Sunday morning.

I canβt bear it. I cannot read the details. But this is not the second case and it wonβt be the last. We must keep fighting. Speaking out against pornography, prostitution and the misogyny that all women face. We cannot become desensitised to these horrors.
'Gisele Pelicot 2.0' wife who was 'drugged by husband so other men could rape her' dies 'after sexual abuse caused fatal injuries' trib.al/h104r7p
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The woman in question was Daniela Aichinger, a 39-year-old from Austria who died in June.
Prosecutors' nicknaming of the case as 'Pelicot 2.0' and the Daily Mail's repetition of this is callous and misogynistic, and precisely the culture Pelicot is fighting against.

Watch this then dare tell me that us radical feminists are wrong when we say prostitution is encouraged/treated as inevitable so that society can avoid tackling male sexual violence when it has created a subclass of women to invisibly soak up the majority of that sexual violence.

Knowing how to understand something gives you back some sense of control when everything around you feels totally and utterly out of your control.
To have people suggest youβve got it wrong is harmful. To have politicians sew narratives against that understanding is traumatic.

lIf you do anything today, watch @MaeveHalligan at the Cambridge Union. I genuinely think this was the first time many people in that room were confronted with the hard reality of the trans debate, rather than the slogans that usually surround it.
@BuckAngel was exceptional: calm, articulate, humane. Ultimate respect.
And then there was Helen Webberley. I remember once thinking the criticism directed at her by GC women was excessive, especially the claim she was βpure evilβ. After hearing her speak, I no longer think that. She is totally insincere. I can deal with hard ideologues- they believe they are telling the truth; they are genuine, @HelenWebberley is different.
One audience member, a trans-identified male and former patient of hers, stood to speak during points of information. His account of how he had been treated was deeply disturbing.
Watch the full debate. It is worth your time.

I wrote, for @unherd, about Believe Me, the drama series on ITV about the serial rapist John Worboys, the catastrophic police failures, and the incredible courage and tenacity of those survivors (assisted by @HWistrich) to hold them to account:
