I will say this until I’m blue in the face.. Schotty is the best chance that we as Cowboys fans have at being a successful franchise. He knows how to “play the game” Joneses trust him and he gives them credit…even if a lot are his ideas and culture. Give him time, #cowboysnation
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to head coach Brian Schottenheimer before the start of this year’s NFL Draft: “The last thing in the world I’m worried about is you. And I want me to be the last thing you worry about. We just make it work.” Schottenheimer: “I respect and love you. I appreciate you. I really do.” (Via ESPN/NFL Films)

Hey, good news! I just simulated the season and there's still a scenario where the Eagles can win the NFC East with a 4-12-1 record.

Nobody wants to talk about though.
Cowboys were 3-5 with McCarthy in 2024 before Dak was hurt. The offense was broken. You just make stuff up @clarencehilljr

Comparison of the 4 top teams vs the Cowboys OL. Significant resource investment in that unit.

COME ON GUYS WHAT ARE WE SAYING HERE? CALEB DOWNS IS PLAYING SLOT BETTER THAN MOST SLOT DB's AT THIS POINT. LESS TDS & YARDS THAN MOST & 102 OF HIS 173 YARDS CAME IN THE GB GAME & THEY THREW SLANTS & FLATS ALL DAY DINK & DUNKED FOR THOSE COMPLETIONS. HE HAS NO PROBLEM GUARDING WRS, HE DOES IT EVERY GAME 71 YDS WK 1-5. 180 PASSING PLAYS & HAS BEEN TARGETED 18 TIMES. WE RELY ON YOU FOR ACCURACY & TRUTH, STOP RAILROADING THIS KID WHILE HES PLAYING BETTER THAN HIS COUNTERPARTS. EVRYONE OTHER WHITHERSPOON HAS GIVEN UP MORE TDS & FAR MORE TARGETS. QB's DONT THROW OFTEN AT DOWNS AT ALL. 🔹 Caleb Downs: 18 targets | 17 catches | 173 yards | 1 TD | 43 tackles | 1 sack 🔹 Cooper DeJean: 34 targets | 20 catches | 219 yards | 3 TDs 🔹 Jourdan Lewis: 25 targets | 14 catches | 134 yards | 2 TDs | 2 INTs 🔹 Devon Witherspoon: 35 targets | 22 catches | 139 yards | 0 TDs | 37 tackles Downs has allowed fewer yards and TDs than DeJean, but a significantly higher completion percentage (94.4% vs. 58.8%) BECAUSE OF THEM THROWING TO THE FLATS NOT WHILE IN MAN CCOVERAGE. Witherspoon has faced nearly DOUBLE the targets of Downs while allowing fewer yards and ZERO touchdowns.
.@BryanBroaddus on Caleb Downs: "I really don't know where to play him right now... I'm kind of at a loss because it seems like teams have found a way to throw the ball at him, and they've had some success..."

The opponents offense is dictating your defense. 2 motions pre snap, your defense has to adjust twice. On offense, your opponents defense is dictating your offense. They mug, you adjust…adjust…they got you! You can’t let your opponent dictate you!

Not just this game btw Sky is 100% right (again) - they're more static even before the "we're trailing" stuff comes into play Video coming on it, but they are more static period even in neutral game scripts
Cowboys "first 15" vs Green Bay -Play 1 static -Play 2 static -Play 3 static -Play 4 CD jog motion (no impact on the play) -Play 5 static -Play 6 CD resets in the slot no at snap motion -Play 7- AT SNAP MOTION -Play 8 static -Play 9 static -Play 10 ID motion (static at the snap) -Play 11 static -Play 12 static -Play 13 Flournoy resets no at snap motion -Play 14 static -Play 15 static -Play 16 static The Cowboys ran 16 plays between their opening drive and being down 7-0 Of those 16 plays, only ONE featured meaningful motion designed to manipulate the defense. And that play was wiped out by a penalty. I understand Schotty's explanation about playing from behind and wanting to operate with tempo. But that doesn't explain why the offense is so static BEFORE game script becomes a factor.

Asked Brian Schottenheimer about the lack of motion. He pointed to the fact they trail often. But why does that matter? "You're trying to go fast. You're trying to keep the defense on their heels. You're trying to extend the game for as long as you can and get as many ops as possible, because you don't know what's going to happen. So that's the No. 1 thing. And when you shift in motion, obviously the play clock and the game clock go down and so that limits your ops. And that's a big reason why when you see teams go no huddle, usually receivers don't change sides. Usually you're moving one guy, maybe the back and one guy and you're trying to do that to stay ahead of the clock."

Lots of time between now and the wild card. If I had to put money on it, the offense gets better before then. We'll see about the defense. If you give me a ticket to the show, I'm not going to complain. Especially with our 1st rd pick potentially gone anyway, depending on GB.
Would you be happy if the Cowboys won the bad NFC East? Obviously on some level you would. That’s normal and human. But getting blown out in the Wild Card Round would be so terrible.

This is because everyone know Rashan Gary is going to eat the cheese on these plays. Been doing to for a half decade already. At least he was a force in the pass game
Matt LaFleur was asked if he targeted "someone" specifically on the Jordan Love zone-read, LaFleur laughed and said, "No, not specifically but when I say him there, I said 'Oh, OK.'" Real ones know.

To me, it seems like Jonathan Gannon calls defense proactively, trying to dictate the offense’s decisions and force it into uncomfortable answers, while Christian Parker has been far more reactive, often allowing the offense to dictate the terms while his defense searches for answers. Gannon forcing DAL into and taking advantage of DAL's 6-man protection rules with his blitzes is just one example. #Cowboys

Might have to move Malachi Lawrence over to the slot after this rep lol. Not only does he do a great job jumping the out route, but he stays connected enough to deflect the pass before it gets to Watson. Just an INSANE athlete for an edge defender. WOW. #Cowboys
