Wanted to clear something up since I’ve seen a lot of people talking about it and asking whether I’ll be considered a Turkish or EU player under the new 2027 VCT system.
I’m a dual citizen of the Netherlands and Turkey, which means I can be on a team with 2 other Turkish players, and the team would still be eligible to compete in Europe - and the same applies the other way around.
It’s obviously a very convenient situation for me, and I feel lucky to have something like this work in my favor.
I’ve also seen a lot of people assume I’m either just Dutch or Turkish, or that one of my parents is Dutch and the other is Turkish. Both of my parents, and my entire family, are Turkish. I was simply born and raised in the Netherlands.
