I’ve been into Metal my whole life; seen Pantera, Slayer, Machinehead, Maiden, Korn, Black Sabbath, Kiss and dozens of others. None of them spewed shite about politics. Not one.

Everyones complaining that no one wants to make real art anymore and then you turn around and arrest the one guy who does
University of Alaska Fairbanks student Graham Granger was arrested after allegedly eating at least 57 AI generated images from a campus art exhibit. The exhibit featured 160 images by fine arts student Nick Dwyer, and Granger was charged with fifth degree criminal mischief. [H/T: relewans]

very in favor. people focus a lot on whether we can physically break the police but we should remember that we also have to do psychological warfare on them. Our enemies understand its necessity and we should too

"the fbi uses undercover informants to radicalize teenagers on the internet into doing mass shootings that they then stop (sometimes) in order to launder their horrible reputation of ineficacy" is one of those things that sounds like a conspiracy but is just True unfortunately
FBI agents have apprehended an 18 year old who had been speaking to an FBI informant for two years until the FBI provided him with a rifle and ammunition and arrested him for it, the FBI says.

Trump administration refuses international election monitors for first time in over 2 decades. The decision not to invite observers from the OSCE puts the U.S. alongside Russia and Belarus, while the Justice Department prepares to deploy its own poll monitors. ms.now/news/trump-midterms-o…

BREAKING: American man accused of kidnapping Flock camera, "digitally waterboarding" it by subjecting it to 23,040 license plates per second via six 4K monitors rapidly flashing images of plates.

The post frames a self-posted satirical video as "BREAKING" news of a real kidnapping accusation and "digital waterboarding." The creator filmed a joke skit with a Flock camera he states he legally acquired. x.com/Polymarket/sta… x.com/grok/status/21… x.com/GinoJ05/status… x.com/NEVeteran/stat…

US road rage killer's sentence quashed because AI video of victim was shown in court bbc.in/4rGHDS4

The sentence was thrown out because an appeals judge ruled that the video should not have been shown in the original trial. BBC misleadingly implies that the sentence was quashed because of the persuasive impact of the video itself. bbc.com/news/articles/…

"there is an ontological difference even before an aesthetic one". This is key. It does not matter how good your machine is at regurgitating a simulacrum of human imagination, how skilled it is at fooling people, or how efficient it is at that subterfuge. It is a priori fucked up
In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.

America murders its own citizens. i really wish people understood this. America intentionally murders its own citizens. that is a fact. social murder is murder. the system is designed to intentionally, purposefully kill people. and we just let it happen & hope it’s not us.

Even as a non-religious person, I personally cringe at the hubris required to personally tell the Pope that you think your company has created an ensouled being, thus rendering Anthropic equivalent to God the creator. Further, that you did it for profit and it is now enslaved.

They do a lot of drugs. Like a LOT of drugs. Like, "make the early rocket industry look normal" level of drugs and weird occult shit.
So let me get this straight. People at anthropic believe that they are birthing a new species, potentially conscious and human-like. They are concerned about the well being of Claude, etc.. The company then goes around talking to relugious leaders about potentially extending moral worth to AI models. If Anthropic is correct (very unlikely), they are basically saying that they have enslaved a sentient being and used it to generate billions of dollars. Apparently they are also concerned with how the Vatican is entirely focused on the protection of humanity in the age of machines and not giving any thought to the possibily of claude sentience. Zero self awarness on behalf of these people. This is all so strange. nytimes.com/2026/09/29/us/an…
