ok hear me out, what if you could encrypt to a TEE that doesn't exist (yet)?
Turns out, if you flip the QAP we use for groth16 proving systems you can construct a witness encryption scheme for TDX attestaions.
IMO big for confidential and censorship-resistant P2P systems? (besides v interesting applied cryptography).
We really are living in interesting times. Excellent work

With our benchmark, we set a new standard for evaluating autoformalization using specification-based evaluation. Agents are given an expert-checked Lean statement and can construct their own definitions, lemmas, and proof strategies, like mathematicians.

Today, at the @DARPA expMath kickoff, we launched 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗚𝗮𝘂𝘀𝘀, an open source and state of the art autoformalization agent harness for developers and practitioners to accelerate progress at the frontier.
It is stronger, faster, and more cost-efficient than off-the-shelf alternatives. On FormalQualBench, running with a 4-hour timeout, it beats @HarmonicMath's Aristotle agent with no time limit.
Users of OpenGauss can interact with it as much or as little as they want, can easily manage many subagents working in parallel, and can extend / modify / introspect OpenGauss because it is permissively open-source. OpenGauss was developed in close collaboration with maintainers of leading open-source AI tooling for Lean.
Read the report and try it out:
the fact that @leanprover gets you to native code from a proof is too undervalued; no intermediary = what is proven is what is run.
i.e. we can get kernel checks on proven rules. extracting algebraic properties from generic transformations to express them as eval is going to be interesting for optimizations.

i run Qwen3.5-122B-A10B-Q4_K_L (Bartowski) on strix halo, 220k context
slaps. speed falls off a bit with context for sure but i dont care, reasoning quality over everything. 8-20 tok/sec depending on context heaviness
if you have a single RTX 3090 and want the best local inference setup right now, here's what i landed on after testing 5 open source models across 7 GPU configs this month.
GPU: 1x RTX 3090 24GB
model: Qwen 3.5 27B Dense Q4_K_M (16.7GB)
context: 262K (native max)
speed: 35 tok/s generation, flat from 4K to 300K+
reasoning: built in chain of thought, survives Q4 quant
config:
llama-server -ngl 99 -c 262144 -fa on --cache-type-k q4_0 --cache-type-v q4_0
what this gives you:
- 27B params all active every token
- no speed degradation as context fills
- full reasoning mode on a consumer GPU
- 7GB VRAM headroom after model load
tested MoE (faster but less depth per token) and dense hermes (same speed, degraded under load). qwen dense hit the sweet spot for single GPU. more architecture comparisons dropping soon.
what's your single GPU setup? curious what configs people are running.
PRESENTING: Tplus Product Day!
100 Sophisticated Market Participants will join us for our inaugural Market Structure Exposé to discuss the Future of France.
Hosted in a private castle overlooking Cannes and catered by the Ambassador of China to France's very own private chef!
good take on many counts; most interestingly preparing for the end of the inference subsidy and privacy/trust

models are a pyramid
we have passed the frontier only era imo
only funnel things up when you have to. the frontier models code a harness for the open models, but never actually get the sensitive data
using this approach I have reduced my frontier queries 98% or more

Terence Tao: Formal Verification Breaks the Trust Barrier in Mathematics
Formal verification is transforming mathematical collaborations — enabling anonymous contributions, machine-checked proofs, and radically more precise scientific discussion.
Cool read. if you want to see how to elegantly handle post handshake attestation read this <- hooks are a very natural way of doing this IMO as it makes it almost feel like it's part of the handshake when it isn't.
Hot off the press: @LandKingdom explains the ins and outs of attested TLS - the only way to remotely talk to TEEs with guarantees that the remote endpoint is confidential and authentic.

my meta thesis and also that of @tzhen is that this is where the industry is failing right now, specifically we do not have the right r&d loop yet (ideas, (optional/parallel) formalization, data, validation, prototyping, principled comparison)
academic artifacts are too disconnected from reality because reality is hard to model. industry products are not principled because they can only design for the burning needs of existing customers, and the dumber less principled ideas win that
what we try to create at Flashbots is a middle ground... a soup of both, knowing what we have observed in many systems, and suggesting fixes that address the core issue. for example this piece writings.flashbots.net/mev-a… where we used half a decade of experience dealing with all forms of MEV spam to propose a market based solution that was based on auction R&D we have been doing for years
the closed loop approach of a paper probably will not capture the needed complexity for Solana. they will end up with a forest of papers, and products, and protocols, all feeding each other and converging, naturally, because nothing else works. and it will end up looking a lot like what we have been calling SUAVE, because ultimately, we are all building the same thing
probably the best thing AI has done for mechanism design is recognizing that the unorganized garbage w/o proofs that we write was already standardized/partially discussed in some formal paper.
Like wdym that my genious idea was already thought of 6 years ago?
Just piece things together.
