Earlier today, my Congressional Office received an envelope containing a suspicious substance. My team immediately notified the FBI, NYPD, and FDNY, all of which responded promptly. The FDNY tested the substance and determined that it was non-hazardous. We have since turned over the envelope to the FBI, and an investigation is ongoing. We are living in a time when threats against elected officials and their staff have become the new normal. Although my team is understandably shaken by the incident, we will not be deterred from serving the people of NY-15 in the Bronx.

Sees The Bends, chooses violence.
Not one great album here. 1995 was a weirdly bad year for music. The post-grunge explosion had faded, and 2nd wave emo and post-rock were about to emerge but hadn't yet, along with bands like Modest Mouse. The best records that year were probably "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx," "Wowee Zowee," "To Bring You My Love," "Ghost of Tom Joad," Garden Variety's "Knocking the Skill Level," and the first Sparklehorse album (which I had forgotten came out in '95).

I’ve found it harder to make a deck with ai than without. It’s a reductive process vs a creative one.
The thing about a 20 slide deck previously taking hours to construct vs having AI now do it in minutes is that the hours it took to create it in the old world meant that everything was thoughtful, crafted, and scrutinized. In the hands of someone good, it made for breakthrough work. AI is making everyone "think" they are good, but it's getting really tired really fast. I'd say that >50% of the slides I see now are claudeslop.

Zero inaccuracies.
Underrated things about NJ - 1) NJ is deeply, deeply unpretentious. It filters out pinkies up people better than anywhere else in the country. 2) NJ is hilarious. My least funny friend in high school is top 1% funny any other place in the country. 3) Food in NJ is amazing. Especially in the suburbs. Strip mall meals in NJ mog just about any other suburban cuisine in the country.

The most watched television broadcast in history was the moon landing, 150M views. TikTok has 170M US DAUs. We’ve never allowed foreign ownership of television networks. This is not difficult, or even nuanced.
Our CEO Shou Chew's response to the TikTok ban:

If life was logical there would be smartphones designed especially for kids. A huge market of ones as "my first smartphone" and then another for 13-16 year olds

An under-appreciated point
Zuck got roasted today, but I think a lot of people miss the point: Facebook actually does studies on the impacts of their products, so that they can address those problems. When I was building apps there, I had access to PhD researchers to fully understand the impacts of my work on people. While the findings of those studies may make the company look negligent, you have to remember that Zuck is literally financing and elevating these discussions—not avoiding them. Can you say the same about Cosmo Magazine, Kim Kardashian, or any other business that targets teens?

The followup is as good as the first point.
Replying to @RitchieTorres
There is a danger in overreacting. The US should have never invaded Iraq because it had nothing to do with 9/11. The US should have never conducted a counter-insurgency, rather than counter-terrorism, in Afghanistan. But the US did act justly and justifiably in degrading the capabilities of Al-Qaeda, which is a shell of its former self. Hamas should have the same fate as Al-Qaeda.

My new favorite congressman.
If a terrorist organization invades American homes and murders and maims American civilians and children and rapes American women and mutilates American bodies and butchers, burns, and beheads American babies and abducts American hostages and guns down hundreds of young Americans at a music festival and massacres 10% of an American town… Would you expect your government to enter into a ceasefire with the very terrorist organization that committed all those atrocities against Americans on American soil?

To increase the odds of finding product/market fit, startups should iterate on the pitch, NOT the product.

Fitting that this was my last tweet on this platform.

I'm seeing people who are flying in for NFT NYC getting BAD pizza advice. My uncle owned a pizzeria and "pizza maxi" is in my bio... I'm a native NY'er that has been judging pizza since my memories exist. Let me help you eat the best of the best. Here are my top picks:

Silicon Valley Bank’s shareholders and executives lose it all, as they should. Depositors in good faith, however, should recover and have access to their deposits in order to meet their payrolls, pay their suppliers, and to prevent contagion.

SIM swapped - can confirm SMS is like leaving your keys in the driveway.
SMS 2FA is the least secure option compared to TOTP and security keys. It’s prone to SIM swapping attacks and not even Blue subscribers should use it
