The situation is showing early signs of improving, but it is exceptionally high still.
This chart shows just how bad got and - sadly - how far we have to go before things are normal.
Most listings on OpenRent and SpareRoom do not welcome so-called "DSS" renters.
And thousands of places on Zoopla and Rightmove seem open to benefits claimants, while the same property advertised on OpenRent excluded them.
