Americans don’t think we live under a dictatorship because we have elections, but the only reason we have elections is to preserve the illusion of “democracy” and maintain the dictatorship of capital. Haven’t you ever wondered why regardless of who wins the election the bombs keep dropping overseas and the rich keep getting richer while the masses struggle to survive? The reason is simple: There is no real democracy in capitalist society because all elections do is put a different face on the same barbaric system that exploits workers to enrich billionaires and wages imperialist wars to loot other countries’ resources. Elections under capitalism are a total sham because both parties the people are propagandized to vote for are bought off and bribed to serve corporations, billionaires, Israel, and the endless war machine. It has been hiding in plain sight this whole time: The dictator that rules over every aspect of our lives is not one person, but an entire system that values profits, property, and war more than people. The dictator is capitalism.
