⚠️ QUBIC HALTS NETWORK AFTER ATTACKER DRAINS 1,404 WALLETS VIA WEAK SEEDS Qubic confirmed on Oct 18, 2026 that an attacker drained 1,404 wallets, about 2.94 trillion QU in total, between 23:42 UTC on Oct 17 and 01:26 UTC on Oct 18. What Qubic says: • Some wallet seeds were generated with insufficient randomness, and the attacker used this to access the affected wallets; the flaw was in seed generation, not the Qubic protocol • Affected seeds: created on an iPhone or iPad in any browser before Oct 18, 2026, on a Mac using Safari before Oct 18, 2026, or in the Qubic iOS app before July 2025 • Computors halted the network at tick 85,371,949, so 87.1% of the drained funds remain frozen on-chain • The other 12.9% went to MEXC, which froze the receiving account within about an hour; exchanges suspended QUBIC deposits and withdrawals • Seed generation is fixed in version 4.26.4, and any resolution is up to the Computor quorum ⚠️ Analyst Note: This is a key-generation failure, not a protocol bug. Seeds made with weak randomness can be guessed, so every wallet created on the listed platforms should be treated as exposed and moved to a new seed made with the fixed version. Expect "recovery service" scams: Qubic says it will never message first, ask for a seed, or charge for recovery. Checking the price during dinner. Before bed. First thing in the morning. If you already know where you want to buy or sell, why are you waiting to do it manually? On @CarbonDeFixyz, you program your trade in advance. Your order remains live with no expiry, and completed fills don’t reverse when the market does. You don't need to be present when the market reaches your price, and you don't need to withdraw as soon as your order fills.

Removing the need to monitor every price movement doesn't mean giving up control over your trades. On @CarbonDeFixyz, the maker remains in control, even when they're not watching. They define the prices, ranges, budgets and spreads in advance. The strategy executes according to those instructions and can be adjusted or paused onchain at any time.

I’m French. I want to talk to Americans who are about to vote Democrat. Not to insult you. To warn you. I come from your future. In France we did everything your progressive politicians promise. Free healthcare, free college, generous welfare, strong unions, heavy regulation, high taxes on the rich, a state that takes care of everything. Public spending close to 57% of GDP, one of the highest on the planet. On paper, it’s the dream. Here’s what it looks like from the inside. France hasn’t passed a balanced budget since 1974. Our debt is above 3,300 billion euros. Interest on that debt is becoming one of the biggest items in the national budget. Our hospitals are collapsing despite record funding. Our schools rank lower every year. Young people with degrees can’t afford an apartment in the city they were born in. Our best engineers leave for London, Zurich and San Francisco. And the rich you wanted to tax? They left too, and took the jobs with them. The promise was protection. The result is stagnation. The worst part is that nobody in France voted for decline. Every single step sounded generous, compassionate, reasonable. One more program. One more regulation. One more tax to fund it. Each step alone makes sense. Fifty years of them, and you wake up in a country that can no longer build a nuclear plant on time or keep its streets safe. I love America because it’s the one place on earth where people still believe they can build something from nothing. I came to Silicon Valley as a self-taught kid and it changed my life. That spirit is the most precious thing your country has. Before you vote, ask yourself one question: is the program you’re voting for making America more like America, or more like France? Trust me. You don’t want to be France.
On a ri.

Not all limit orders are the same. Price. Expiry. Reach. Reversible/irreversible. Third-party dependencies...
The price of a limit order should be the execution price, not a preference or a suggestion. Yet many onchain limit orders ask the user to define both a desired price and a minimum acceptable amount. A Limit Order on @CarbonDeFixyz is an executable onchain offer at the maker’s exact price. Full fills execute at that price. Partial fills execute at that price. Every unit filled executes at the rate defined by the maker.

The Islamic riots in France have spread to Belgium, and Brussels looks like a war zone right now. This is the capital of the European Union. 88% of people under 18 have a foreign background, and more than half are Muslim. What has Europe done to itself?

Upgrade to 7.2.9 or later. That is the only thing that actually closes the problem. The rest reduces exposure. • Turn on “ask where to save each file”. With that setting, automatic download does not happen at all, and the instruction file never reaches the disk. It is the most effective mitigation short of upgrading. • Limit who can add you to groups to your contacts only. Stolen files can only be sent to a channel or a supergroup, so this takes away the place the attacker would have them delivered to. • Set a local passcode, and choose it like a real password. It does not prevent the files from being stolen; it only makes the stolen session unusable. • Disable automatic download: Open Telegram Desktop and click the three horizontal lines (menu icon) in the top-left corner. Click on Settings. Select Advanced. Scroll down to the Automatic Media Download section. Choose the chat types to manage (Private Chats, Groups, and Channels) and toggle off photos, videos, and files as desired.

How A Uniswap v4 beforeSwap hook just cost Goldpesatoken about $115K USDC. GPXHooks rebalances protocol-owned GPX/USDC liquidity inside beforeSwap. Once an hour has passed, any swap can trigger it. The attacker minted a position through the shared PositionManager and never settled it, so the USDC delta was not zero when the hook ran. reBalance burned the hook’s real position and TAKE_PAIR’d the credit but that credit was netted against the open debt. The hook kept about $34K. The attacker cleared the debt and took about $115K USDC from the PoolManager.

What in the actual F is this?
A CITY COUNCIL IN IOWA JUST OPENED ITS MEETING WITH A PRAYER TO SATAN, AND I CAN'T BELIEVE I EVEN HAVE TO TYPE THAT. The invocation at the Ottumwa city council meeting reportedly ended with the words "Hail Satan." This is a small town in the heartland, not some coastal college campus. When a community starts letting the devil lead off its public meetings, something has gone badly wrong with the people running the show. Ottumwa residents deserve answers about how this got on the agenda and who signed off on it. Pray for that town today, because they clearly need it more than ever 🙏

You place a buy order, wait for it to fill, take those funds and place a sell order. When that fills, you start again. Recurring strategies on @CarbonDeFixyz run that loop for you. You set your buy price. You set your sell price. These two orders are linked. As the buy fills, those tokens go straight into the sell order. As the sell fills, the proceeds go back into the buy. The two sides keep feeding each other, with no withdrawing, re-depositing or new orders to place. Adjustable prices, budgets, and strategy types – all native to the protocol with zero third party dependencies.

I don't recommend anyone scramble to move their funds to new wallets today. But we should take the risks to cryptography from AI-accelerated math seriously, and minimize our exposure to not just quantum-vulnerable cryptography, but also potentially AI-vulnerable cryptography. The core new area of risk from this viewpoint is, unfortunately, ML-DSA / FHE / lattices. (and it's also another reason, along with quantum, why ECDSA might fall even faster than expected, hence the "fresh address" recommendation) So far most people have been in the mode of thinking "elliptic curves broken, hashes safe, lattices safe". But there is a good chance that the concrete security of lattices will take serious hits from the next two years of AI math. The basic threat model is: factoring is something that naively takes 2^(n/2) time, but over decades smart people have found and optimized number field sieves, and degraded that to 2^O(n^(1/3)), which is why RSA keys and signatures need to be ~400 bytes (and not 64 bytes). What if there are skeletons in the closet like that, both for elliptic curves and lattices, that we are simply not smart enough to discover - but bots soon will be? This is a major part of the reason why for the past year ethereum's lean roadmap has been going in the "hash-only" direction: no lattices, no ML-DSA, no Falcon, no lattice-based commitments inside ZK proofs, etc. Signatures in lean ethereum are all hash-based, either WOTS or SPHINCS-. For signatures and proofs, we already know how to go hash-only. The bigger challenge is for *public-key encryption* - and this goes far beyond blockchains. Secure communication, anonymizing protocols, lots of things need public-key encryption. And unfortunately there are long-standing mathematical theorems showing why public-key encryption cannot be done with hashes alone. You have to have some kind of trapdoor object that has at least one form of usable "structure" - either group theory (incl. isogenies) or lattices or code-based or potentially in the future even more newfangled and spooky things (local mixing?). But for anything that has structure, you should assume that AI will make at least some progress in breaking that structure. Here, one reasonable inference is that if you want to make something plausibly long-term secure, multiply the key sizes by 10. To me that's a very plausible world and something not at all extreme to predict. If AI will bring us 50 years of math in 2 years, then that 50 years of math may very plausibly include a "naive factoring -> GNFS" level of improvement to our ability to break lattices. In that world, lattices will still exist, but they will have to be significantly bigger to guarantee the same level of safety. And at those new larger sizes, hash-based constructions will beat lattice-based constructions on concrete efficiency in every use case where hash-based constructions are possible at all. Theoretically, of course it's possible that hashes are broken too (eg. P = NP would imply that). But I think P = NP is very unlikely. And intuitively, it's much more likely that a mathematical object has exactly no exploitable structure (like hashes are intended to), than that a mathematical object has exactly ~3 forms of exploitable structure (for elliptic curves: associativity, Schoof, pairings) and not some secret fourth form of structure we have not yet discovered that greatly degrades its security (for elliptic curves, ECDLP and pairing security). Similar for LWE, SVP, RLWE and the zoo of lattice problems. For this reason, we do not yet see any reason to worry and start padding the byte size of hashes (if we start to worry more, we would pad the round count first before doing anything to the byte size). Concrete TLDR, my own personal views: * Hash-based > lattice-based, in those situations where hash-based is possible at all * For anything lattice-based, be much more paranoid on param sizes. Remember that blockchains are only a small portion of the cryptography story; this point goes far beyond blockchains and applies to eg. access to websites, secure messaging, Tor / VPNs ... * For privacy protocols, strongly favor NOT putting encrypted notes onchain. Instead, send them offchain through some third-party mechanism. * If it's not difficult for you, keeping your funds in addresses which have not yet been used to make a transaction is a good idea. If it's easy for you, do it. **But be careful about migrations; I personally have lost more money in botched migrations than I have lost in all hacks combined**. * For multisig wallets, doing confirmations offchain is better than onchain, because this way the signatures of signer wallets do not get exposed to the public, so if ECDSA falls to AI much faster than expected, at least the multisig "gracefully degrades" to a 1-of-1 where the 1 is whoever was gathering the signatures - a much better place to be than "anyone can take the money" firefly.social/post/x/210783…

Carbon DeFi's solver executes 200x faster than previously published arbitrage algorithms. Here's what that means for your strategies 👇 Every strategy on Carbon DeFi (limit, range, recurring, concentrated, full range) is broadcast to the entire blockchain the moment it goes live. They're open and fillable by anyone: traders, bots, and Carbon DeFi's built-in solver, which runs continuously and pulls liquidity from all major DEXs on the same chain. Built on Marginal Price Optimization, a new approach developed by Bancor, the solver runs pairwise, triangular and multi-hop arbitrage, adjusting to market conditions in real time. The result: the solver helps efficiently fill orders and keep strategies actively trading, without relying on a single liquidity source or a handful of resolvers. Building on @ethereum, @SeiNetwork, @Celo, @COTInetwork, or @TacBuild? DM @here2DeFi to get your DEX integrated.
