Dr. Angela Nakafeero, Commissioner for Gender & Women Affairs @Mglsd_UG highlighted the role of the community in shaping young men:
"Transitioning boys into responsible men requires daily guidance from family members and communities that promote positive, respectful masculinity.
The Ministry of Health is convening the National Dissemination of the Health Sector Male Involvement Strategy & Implementation Plan meeting at Fairway Hotel, Kampala, chaired by Dr. @RichardKabanda2, Commissioner for Health Promotion, Education & Communication (HPE&C).
In his address, Dr. Kabanda said “We(Men) influence so many things at household and community level, but we have been left behind so many times.”
The strategy seeks to strengthen meaningful male involvement in health promotion and decision-making at household and community level.
The meeting brings together representatives from MOH departments, Civil Society Organisations, development partners and implementing partners, including @UNFPAUganda, @MarieStopesUg and HEPS Uganda, alongside the media.

The dissemination meeting highlighted the critical role men play in household decision-making, community well-being, and overall health outcomes while addressing the gaps that have historically left men out of health promotion initiatives.
Led by Dr. Kabanda & Dr. Mungherera, the Male Engagement Technical Working Group commended all partners, including the @MODVA_UPDF, @PoliceUg, for driving the strategy forward, noting that effective implementation centers on dedicated resources and multi-sectoral action.

As part of the Global Day of Action, in collaboration with the Stop TB Partnership, we're calling for stronger action to ensure that people at risk of TB can access faster, more accurate diagnosis because timely diagnosis saves lives and helps stop transmission.

The technology is no longer the barrier.
A 130-year-old microscope is still the closest TB test to most people. A new WHO-recommended test costs less 15000/=, runs on a battery in a health centre, and gives an answer in 30 minutes.
