Step 8 ➡️ Step 4
The story of Ben Cleary. This is what the years have looked like for him since playing men’s football:
22/23 Swindon Supermarine Devs- 8⚽️
23/24 Swindon Supermarine Devs- 13⚽️
24/25 Letcombe- 35⚽️
25/26 Royal Wootten Basset- 20⚽️
26/27 Larkhall- 1⚽️ in 1 start
He’s making the jumps and scoring at every single level he plays at. This is a proper Jamie Vardy-esque story where this lad scores no matter who he plays for. We wish him the best of luck this season! A serious player to keep an eye on 👀📈

Bassett held on for a big @HellenicLeague Premier Division victory away at Tuffley
First half goals from Ben Cleary and Henri Parry-Williams and a Rudi Hopkins strike on the hour put Jonny Aitkenhead’s side in a seemingly unassailable lead
Quickfire goals from Karnell Chambers and Gino Valenti brought it back to 3-2 with twenty minutes remaining
However there was to be no comeback with Bassett sealing an important away win

A pair of Charlie King penalties saw Mark Simpkins’ team overturn a 2-0 first half deficit and claim a deserved point in the @WiltsLeague Premier Division
King converted after George Cook was brought down in the opening period
He then netted from twelve yards in the second half after a foul on Prince Nyongolo

A coach, a mentor, but most of all a special friend. As always, eternally grateful.
Rest easy Marv, thank you ❤️
We were saddened to hear of the passing of Marvin Brown aged 42.
Marvin joined the Bristol City Academy at the age of eight and went on to become the club’s youngest player, aged just 16 years and 71 days in September 1999.
While at the club, Marvin featured for England Under-16s and Under-17s before moving on to Forest Green Rovers in 2004.
A proud Bristolian, Marvin founded Total Pro Soccer, a development centre for young boys in the Bristol area and worked as an Academy coach at Bristol City alongside and beyond his playing career in various roles and played a crucial role in the development of numerous Academy graduates.
Our sincere condolences go to his family & friends.

Eternally grateful for the unconditional support on and off a football pitch Marv’s given to me and my family, from as early as I could kick a ball. An amazing coach but an even better human. Sending nothing but love and strength to him and his family ❤️
Our thoughts are with Marvin Brown and his family as they navigate this truly awful time… Bristol City’s youngest ever appearance maker aged 16 years and 71 days, who later went on to coach in the Academy… Read about his story here - gofundme.com/f/help-support-…
