I’m writing my mlis capstone paper on the importance of bipoc community spaces in lis + the different roles professional & unaffiliated orgs (like @weherespace, Library Green Book) play in the retention of bipoc library workers. Looking for folks to talk to! Any help appreciated!
The CDC continues to be a joke/neoliberal tool. My partner and I are vaxxed + boosted but he tested positive last week. It’s Day 7 and I’m negative *so far*–I can’t imagine being forced back to work yesterday (v glad I quit my public library job in Sep to focus on school+health)

listen I’m not an infectious disease expert simply running on vibes here but if you have covid and you’re thinking about leaving your house after 5 days instead of 10, please don’t 🥲

You can’t reform the police.
The system of policing is doing exactly what it was designed to do.

AMAZING how police consistently make the most “mistakes” when the person they’re dealing with is Black yet they manage to apprehend white mass shooters without killing them time & time again.

If someone has been a police officer for 26 years & can’t distinguish a gun from a taser, that’s a solid indication as any that training will do nothing & it’s time to abolish this relic of slavery.
Eating my first meal in 24 hours. Because that is the kind of week I have been having. Finals for the most hellish quarter + the Asian hate crimes this week fucked me up lol
The public library I work at is planning to reopen in a few weeks because we are now in the red tier and as an Asian female, I’m worried I may get assaulted or killed for telling a patron they need to follow library policy and wear a mask. #ProtectLibraryWorkers #StopAsianHate

I have to see pictures of this white supremacist murderer everywhere and I still have no idea what the women who he murdered even look like or what their names are
