🧵The UK’s Crime and Policing Act 2026 is having consequences far beyond the UK, with adult content creators across the world affected by restrictions and compliance reviews. I’m experiencing it myself. Over half my Clips4Sale catalogue is temporarily restricted, although I’m gradually seeing content return. I understand the frustration, but I also recognise the incredibly difficult position platforms are in. Compliant content can be temporarily restricted during reviews, and I believe the teams at C4S are working incredibly hard to resolve this. In my experience they have one of the best customer support systems. But what concerns me most is the human impact. Less than 24 hours after the new law came into effect, we’re already seeing smaller and newer creators expressing genuine fear and panic about their livelihoods. For some, the sudden loss of income is creating an immediate financial crisis. And this is where I think we need to ask some very serious questions. The government’s stated intention is to protect people, particularly women, from harm. But what happens when the implementation of legislation intended to protect people creates financial distress and uncertainty for the very people whose safety we’re concerned about? When livelihoods are suddenly disrupted, people panic. They make rushed decisions, become financially desperate and can find themselves in vulnerable situations. Financial desperation can create opportunities for predatory individuals who exploit people when they’re frightened, vulnerable and running out of options. And these consequences don’t necessarily stop at national borders. Regardless of your views on adult content, people working legally, ethically and consensually still have bills, families and responsibilities. Nobody should overlook the human consequences of suddenly disrupting someone’s livelihood. If you’re a smaller or newer creator, or this is your primary income, please don’t let panic push you into decisions that could compromise your safety or financial security. Take stock, get accurate information, seek support and make considered decisions. I’ve put together a practical thread with some steps that may help creators navigating this disruption. And to my fellow adult creators around the world, if you know of any reputable organisations or useful contacts in your country offering financial, legal or safety support to those affected, please tag them below so we can help one another find the support we need. Please look after yourselves, and one another. 🤍 ⬇️

Adult content creators are going through it right now as a result of the new legislation. Consider tipping a content creator today to help. Avoid DM'ing where possible on socials etc as they're already swamped. Sign any petitions that crop up about the new law

it's not happening unless the people do something, if we want them to do that then call and email your MPs and tell other people around you to do so too. MPs are there to work for the people, they have to listen if enough people speak out

Support your favourite content creators! They work hard to create original and thought-provoking content for online consumption. Yet many of them do so beneath the minimum wage. All they ask is a little acknowledgment and the occasional tip. Too many are happy to scroll on by and take their work for granted. One day they will not be there. Why not encourage and give them a little help?

Yep and this is what mine (Clips4Sale) have told me; “Please be advised that At this time, we have implemented a general restriction on content availability in the UK to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. This is a precautionary measure and does not necessarily indicate that your clips contain prohibited content or violate our policies. We are continuing to review affected content, and additional clips will be made available to UK buyers as they are reviewed and cleared.”

actually sites are banning these things because the uk law is so vague that anything and everything is being deemed as “choking” or “simulated csam” I’m so sick of people who aren’t in the industry, acting like they know it better than us within it. Shut up

Uk porn laws haven’t done that, C4S have. The new law covers barely any of that. There’s a lot wrong it for sure, there’s even more wrong with the approach C4S have taken banning words that have nothing to do with the law though

Hi. We have some related clipsites such as YooGirls. They have blocked UK users because it's impractical to review all the uploaded clips for content that might contravene the law, especially when the there is no guidance as to what, specifically, could be regarded as smothering. It should be noted though that Ofcom will take the lead on enforcement against platforms, not the police. Before they can do that they have to hold a public consultation and produce relevant guidance. That exercise will probably take until the spring. It was the same with the Online Safety Act. Enforcement began quite some time after the law took effect.

uk porn laws have gotten videos with the following words restricted on c4s: (In titles, captions, categories & tags) - Girl/boy - good girl/good boy - bare face - petite - small tits - shaved pussy - panties - skin tight - braces - deepthroat - throat fuck - small - baby - dildo lengths like 14” - tight (tight grip, tight pussy, tight asshole etc) - frilly…socks - face farting *sitting on a CAMERA*

so you're restricting ANY clips that uses the word 'face' in it @clips4sale ? This is absurd.

For those of you who already know about tomorrow's law, a few things people are missing. Old phones, cloud backups and email attachments all count as possession. Forwarding a clip carries more than owning one. A VPN doesn't change what's legal to keep. Look after yourselves.

WARNING: I see @FetLife has updated their policies to: “restrict certain content from being viewed by people in the United Kingdom”. On strangulation and suffocation images they state that: “Pornographic pictures and videos that explicitly and realistically show one person strangling another (applying pressure to their neck) or suffocating them (blocking their breathing by covering their mouth and nose or compressing their chest).” This appears to reference the MoJ Guidance: gov.uk/guidance/crime-and-po… This guidance states that: “We consider that suffocation will generally mean depriving a person of air in a way that affects their ability to breathe.” However, government guidance is not binding on a court in interpreting legislation; and Section 106 of the Crime and Policing Act 2026 does not define what constitutes suffocation or strangulation: legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/202… Nevertheless, FetLife’s given examples of what their restrictions on strangulation and suffocation images do not include are: “Breath play done to yourself, Hands resting on someone's neck without applying pressure, Collars, chokers, or necklaces worn without applying pressure to the neck, Rope wrapped around someone's neck without applying pressure, Ball gags or other gags that don't restrict breathing, Hoods or masks that don't restrict breathing, Facesitting that doesn't restrict breathing, Someone sitting or lying on another person's chest without restricting their breathing”. BEWARE: these examples should not be relied upon, since it is for a court to decide, based on the images in question (the evidence) whether a possession or publication offence has been committed.
