Proud to present my lifesize T. rex head, affectionately named Hannibal. I created this myself from start to finish- digital sculpture, 3D printing, painting, etc. Quite a learning curve involved but very pleased with how he turned out.

It will, not 100% sure where yet. There will almost certainly be multiple in time

After the digital sculpt was complete, I cut it into parts to fit my printers. Done in zbrush. The head was split into 12 main parts, which were bolted together. Gaps between parts filled. The cuts were made to follow the outline of the scales to reduce visibility of the seams.

Of course we can’t know for sure! But yes the inference is based on the arrangement birds have

The inside of the mouth is totally hard and rigid. This was sculpted digitally, 3D printed in resin and then hand painted

Definitely, especially for the lighter colouration around the eyes

Not intentionally but very possibly subconsciously haha

Rex teeth are proportionally large and long, so I had them protrude, the amount was decided mostly intuitively taking into account the actual enamel covered portions of the tooth fossils. I used a death cast of a crocodile monitor as ref for a lot of the mouth interior

I think it may be tricky to see from the angles I posted but the teeth would be covered fully by the lips when the mouth is closed. In terms of the protrusion from the gums, I did want to maintain a sense of fleshiness like you’d see in a komodo or other large monitor
