they're not lying when they say deaf people are blunt. i told this deaf man my name and he goes "max? that's a dog name!" and starts gesuring like he's calling a dog 😭😭 he's not wrong tho because i did name myself after an animal, but a cat, not a dog

people telling trans men that having piercings makes them feminine is so funny to me. like if we're going by gender stereotypes, sticking a needle in your face and keeping a piece of metal in the resulting hole sounds pretty fuckin manly right?

idk if something switched in my brain or im just getting older, but people being negative about shit all the time is so exhausting. like making fun of relatively harmless stuff and tearing it apart makes you exhausting to be around

y'all ever have a friend breakup so bad that hearing their name activates your fight or flight even if the actual person is hundreds of miles away and you haven't spoken in years

this was the view from st. joseph, taken by my dad
Tonight, Lake Michigan is going to have waves taller than a house. Up to 20 feet out in the middle, and a few could hit 23.

I learned about the Holocaust and I was like, that's bad. Then I learned about the Civil Rights Movement and I was like, that's good.

it is lower wattage but mine can boil water in like 3-4 mins it's definitely not "forever" lol
Apparently the reason why kettles aren’t common in the US is because the wattage of your kettles are so low it takes forever, whereas in the UK a kettle is at a higher wattage and takes avg 1-2 mins for a full boil
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
US electric kettles are limited to lower wattage by 120V power (slower boils than UK 230V models) but are uncommon mainly due to coffee culture and makers rather than wattage alone. currys.co.uk/techtalk/kitch… shoddygoods.meh.com/p/electric-ket… businessinsider.com/why-americans-…
