yknow what, it makes perfect sense as to why the members were so scared for their future prior to the last cb. the way they are treated by their own fandom, be it people disrespecting them, belittling them, mocking them, harassing them, or causing a riot online over a performance at a university (which was a huge, HUGE moment for them, btw), it really does seem like no matter what they do they cannot win when it comes to their own fandom. they cannot speak their minds about how they feel without being “shady” or “pushing an agenda,” they cannot celebrate their achievements without a very loud portion of the fandom complaining about it, they cannot be excited for anything they’re planning without being labelled “company puppets,” and if it’s exhausting and draining and upsetting for us, i can’t even begin to imagine how it feels for them. and it’s so frustrating when you consider how much they love and value engenes. how they check in, how they treat us, how many special things they have done for us this year, even dedicating an entire comeback to us. and this is how they are treated by the very people who should be supporting them. i always hope that the love shown to them drowns out everything else but sometimes i really don’t know. they have done nothing to deserve this.
