honestly, given what's involved with setting up a DAW with auto-tune for karaoke (having to setup and check each song, sometimes figuring out custom target scales and key changes, etc) most people probably won't want to deal with it
autoplay on websites should be illegal...
...the amount of times I've forgotten my volume was cranked and then been ear blasted by an autoplay video
if your ears start bleeding don't be alarmed
that's how you know this plugin setting is working its magic

I'll go a step further !!!
Do not buy expensive mic/gear OR expensive software until you've invested in at least the bare minimum sound treatment for your space!!! This doesn't have to be full covered in foam if you don't have the space or money, but even just hanging up a blanket behind you or putting foam etc where you can will make a HUGE difference for reflections, which will ruin your audio no matter what quality gear you have (and reflections will be even MORE noticeable on high-end gear)

“Live auto-tune doesn’t alter emotion” is simply not true
Humans hear between the 12 Western tones (see Arabic and Indian tunings) and great singers absolutely play with that. Researchers have even identified a “neutral” third in blues and in the vocals of Michael Jackson
1/2
I personally dislike like the ongoing debate regarding live vocal processing.
I see comments of people are quick to jump the gun disregarding the hardwork and talent put into her craft and its sad. Classic Twitter.
Personally live autotune only slightly alters/snaps your pitch. Overdoing it will make you sound well... Artificial...
Either that or it could potentially be a pre-recorded/produced track. (Which I don't think it is)
Either way live auto tune only slighty/moderately alters your pitch. It does not alter emotion nor technique.
Whatever you hear is less about pitch, but more about raw skill and technique.
I've personally dabbled with a similar setup, I use it from time to time but I can't be bothered to use auto tune cause it hates my screamos.
But from my pov its the kind of processing that requires actual skill to control.
You actually need to be someone with insane control with a range of techniques to pull this off. (My pov after hearing all the songs she sang induring her debut.)
Just as a mixer and live singer I can hear where her skill range is despite all the heavy processing and autotune. In the end 70% - 80% of what you her is real. The rest are just good processing/EQ, saturation and a solid compression to balance the volume at all time.
Its mainly used blends her voice to match the intrumental. It doesn't really take anything away and only enchances it.
Personally I always strive for these live production cause its a mix of both worlds. The raw skill output adding a slight tweak for the vocalist to stand out among the rest.
Not quiet produced for a song cover's standard but also so much better than an average live performence.
I think my main annoyance comes from people going "oh autotune bad, so dissappinting" and not being experienced to see that even without using autotune, she is a better vocalist and performer than 80% of the list.

HEY FOCUSRITE USERS
Focusrite Control has a new version out. It looks to be a significant overhaul, thank goodness cause it NEEDS it
the Neumann TLM 67 is an underrated mic
that and TLM 193 are fantastic Neumanns that don't get enough love (and are cheaper than a U87ai)

This is why I would rather hear someone make mistakes singing live than hear recorded perfection from someone who cannot even hold a tune in an actual performance.
Making mistakes is how you improve your craft. Autotune exists to enhance your vocals, not to make you feel like you're so goated in singing you eventually stop trying to get better.
Singing, after all, is still an art form. All art forms require skill. Skills improve over time through practice. Anyone can sing as long as you practice consistently instead of fooling yourself with pompous perfection.
