GLTFKit2 now includes native support for visionOS. You can import static glTF assets and display them just like any other RealityKit entity in a RealityView, as shown in the volumetric demo below. github.com/warrenm/GLTFKit2/…

2023's @NaNoWriMo is approaching fast! Legends & Lattes was a NaNo '21 book. After years of misses, I finally picked something small & attainable, & let's face it, a little ridiculous, and finished in the month. It's never too late to try again. Small ideas have worth. ❤️

Dear @Adobe You mentioned your AI images uses the Adobe stock library only and guarantees the artist gets a royalty. Then can you explain why my name is in your library and there are a bunch of AI generated images with my name without my consent or prior knowledge? Please RT

Take that in. Then try wrapping your head around the fact that we’re only seeing the beginning of a destabilising planet, while remembering that GHG emissions are still rising and the companies largely causing this are making record profits. A bit concerning, don’t you think?
Our favorite planet has now seen 20 days in a row breaking the modern-day record high-temperature of 16.924°C (62.46°F) set on July 24, 2022. This global heatwave is likely the hottest 20-day stretch in the last 100,000+ years.

Today 22 July is Traveller’s birthday. First published 1977 at Origins in New York. – at Illinois, USA
How did this sort of thing (from the original Traveller RPG books) not scare the willies out of wide-eyed adventurous teens wanting to get into space RPGs!?

When your home burns, floods, or is destroyed in an extreme climate weather event, when someone in your family dies from heat waves, or when crops fail and people starve—come for these three people: Wael Sawan (Shell CEO), Darren Woods (Exxon CEO), and Patrick Pouyanne (TotalEnergies CEO). They knew what was coming and did it to you anyway. Sue them, shame them, heckle them, despise them. These are choices. They are to blame, not society. “Corporations are people, my friend.” -Mitt Romney theguardian.com/us-news/2023…

As someone who's paying my mastodon server operators: you're voting with your wallet. It's literally the most meaningful way to approve and support the current state and direction of the service you're paying for.

I went to read the replies to this and got “rate limit exceeded”, of course. My short guess: Emerald Hands woefully underestimated the recurring costs of running a massive social network, is deeply freaking out at the bills, and is trying to pin it all on AI and bots (as usual)

Opinion: debugging and development still relies too heavily on reading raw text output. IDEs should support things like visualization of open telemetry style traces, or provide API for library devs to render custom diagrams integrated with debugger view.

Here is a Hot-Reloading Shader Editor for RealityKit that I hacked together a couple months ago for @getscavengar. Supports Custom Materials and Post Processing. Code in Xcode and get instant updates. Looking forward to what Apple might offer in that regard on Monday. :) #wwdc23
