Is it wrong for me to wish for a large scale natural disaster? I'm referring to the Cascadia fault in the PNW. I don't think the state of Oregon can make it much longer. A big tsunami might just be what we need. It might even bring people together. In more ways than one.

This is how the two-party system dies and a new era of “generational parties” begins. Politicians whose primary goal is enriching their own generation at the expense of everyone else. Not saying that’s a good thing, but it feels like an increasingly probable outcome.

The only thing not taxed in the US is sex. Basically the government saying if you’re broke you can get fucked. That’s really poetic.

🇨🇦 Deaths from assisted dying: 16499 🇺🇸 Deaths from firearm homicaide: 15364 More people died through Canada’s assisted dying program than were killed with guns in the United States. Make it make sense...

Governor Kotek wants Oregonians to blame President Trump for a proposed $250 million Bonneville Power Administration rate increase. But here’s the part she leaves out: After the federal agreement ended, Kotek publicly backed Oregon’s return to court. The State of Oregon then asked for increased water spill over eight Columbia and Snake River dams, the very action that reduced hydropower generation and increased costs. Now BPA wants ratepayers to cover the bill. Kotek supported the policy. Oregon pursued the court order. But when the consequences arrived, she blamed Trump. Oregonians deserve affordable, reliable electricity and leaders who take responsibility for the costs of their own policies. Governor Kotek, you can’t demand the policy and then blame someone else when the bill comes due. oregonlive.com/environment/2…

Oregon is 49th in nonfarm job growth and 41 percent of the state is already below the ALICE line. That's not a campaign hit piece. That's her hand picked panel saying that Oregon is bleeding people because taxes and permitting make it easier to leave than stay. They didn't bury it. They said it out loud basically telling her if you don't change the tax code and the permit maze, the productive ones keep walking. No jobs program, no grant lottery, no press conference fixes that. People vote with U Hauls. She commissioned the report. They handed her the autopsy. Now she wants credit for noticing the body.

From the producers of "If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor" and "The average family of four will save $2,500" comes "Medicare for All will save 114,000 lives and $1 trillion every year!" followed by "You didn't really need that treatment in the first place.." Grab the "No One Could Have Predicted This" series while supplies last!

Remember when Zelinski told Elon Musk to fuck Off? Elon pulled out all his resources, and Zelenski asked why. Elon says, you told me to fuck off so that's what I'm doing.

In 2001 George W Bush proposed a partial privatization plan for Social Security so you could put 10% of your SS contribution into the markets. People rejected this. We can now see that if it had passed, the 10% that went into the markets would have outperformed the 90% the government managed, the program would be solvent, and the average SS recipient would be receiving 2X what they currently receive. The worst bet you’ll ever make is betting on government.
