1984 का सिख नरसंहार भारतीय इतिहास का ऐसा काला अध्याय है, जिसे कभी भुलाया नहीं जा सकता। दिल्ली हाईकोर्ट ने इस नरसंहार को मानवता के विरुद्ध अपराध की संज्ञा दी और राजनीतिक संरक्षण तथा कानून-व्यवस्था की विफलताओं पर गंभीर सवाल उठाए। इसी फैसले में कांग्रेस नेता सज्जन कुमार को राजनगर में पाँच लोगों की हत्या से जुड़े मामले में दोषी ठहराते हुए आजीवन कारावास की सजा सुनाई गई। यह फैसला याद दिलाता है कि न्याय मिलने में दशकों लग सकते हैं, लेकिन पीड़ितों की आवाज़ और सच को हमेशा दबाया नहीं जा सकता। #1984AntiSikhGenocide #JusticeFor1984

ना भूले हैं, ना भूलेंगे। Joined members of the Sikh Sangat for a jansabha and Padyatra at Hari Nagar in Delhi to pay homage to the victims of mindless Atyachar against innocent Sikh men and women perpetrated, openly encouraged and aided by goons and leaders of Congress party on the streets of Delhi in 1984. Many of those present were children, grandchildren and survivors of that horrific and most brutal violence ever unleashed against Sikhs in Independent India. We continue to seethe with rage against that mindless massacre of our people and the way we were made identified targets of unbridled hatred.  Our Gurdwara Sahibs were attacked, properties and homes of Sikhs were burnt to the ground. The streets were littered with bodies of murdered Sikhs.  Those who now talk of “Mohabbat” are the original founding fathers of “Hate Against Sikhs.” They should be ashamed and repentant. Yet they shamelessly sheltered and protected several perpetrators and facilitators in their party and helped them evade justice. It took the firm resolve of PM @narendramodi Ji who took strong measures to ensure that many perpetrators of the gruesome violence & massacre who were protected, & even promoted by Congress Party were eventually brought to justice. But our Sangat will not rest till the last remaining perpetrator is punished by law. 1984 की उस त्रासदी के समय मेरे माता-पिता दिल्ली में थे और मेरे कुछ हिंदू मित्रों ने उन्हें अपने घरों में शरण देकर इंसानियत और भाईचारे की मिसाल पेश की थी। यह नरसंहार केवल एक समुदाय की त्रासदी नहीं, बल्कि पूरे देश के इतिहास पर लगा ऐसा घाव है, जिसे कभी भुलाया नहीं जा सकता। इंसानियत की रक्षा, पीड़ितों को न्याय और राष्ट्रीय एकता, यही उस दर्दनाक इतिहास से मिलने वाली सबसे बड़ी सीख है।

दंगा तब होता है, जब दो समूह आपस में टकराते हैं। 1984 में हजारों निर्दोष सिखों की चुन-चुनकर हत्या, घरों को जलाना और परिवारों को उजाड़ना एकतरफा और संगठित हिंसा का भयावह उदाहरण था। न इस त्रासदी को भुलाया जा सकता है, न इसके पीड़ितों की पीड़ा को। 1984 में दिल्ली में जो हुआ, उसे महज दंगा कहना उस भयावह त्रासदी की गंभीरता को कम करके आंकना होगा। उस नरसंहार को याद रखना जरूरी है, ताकि भारत की धरती पर ऐसी अमानवीय हिंसा दोबारा कभी न हो।
