Disappointed but not surprised at the racist remarks made by Jack Morris against Shohei Ohtani during yesterday's broadcast. Also, totally not surprised at the number of people defending Morris, trying to explain it away, or dismiss it outright

Yeah, you can always find that Asian person who says, "Well *I'm* not like those other Asians, I'M not offended, I thought it was hilarious" — good grief, the immediate selling out of your people is another consistent theme when these kinds of things happen (which is too often)

But that does nothing to diminish the harm it causes. The underlying message is, your accent means you're worthy of being mocked — you'll never belong. Seriously, I just want to go back to being a longsuffering Tigers fan because they're bad, not racist
Mike Richards comes across as truly disrespectful and repugnant on so many levels — from the lazy, disgusting, misogynistic "banter" that he tries to pass off as "decades old comedy" on his podcast to manipulating power dynamics to get his dream job
