Robins can be a little territorial. Was this little bird, seen on a DART last Monday, a little too early in grabbing a seat for our Christmas late night weekend services? ℹ️🌙 See more info and timetables irishrail.ie/en-ie/news/chri…

A young man DM’ed me, asking for realistic steps for young writers trying to get noticed, and if i had any tips. This was my best Writer Dad impression. I thought I should share, in case it helps anyone else.

Niall Donald talking about how Jim Gavin ripped him off included the truest, most Irish statement I’ve ever heard in my life, like this absolutely would be what your friends would say to you in these circumstances

On August 12th, 2020, cousins Sara Feeney (23) and Ellen Glynn (17) drifted out to sea in Galway. Countless volunteers searched through the night. Patrick Oliver and his son, Morgan, found the girls alive clinging to a crab pot after 15 hours at sea. Nobody gave up on them.

Speaking of relays, these 4 women were sporting heroes in Ireland for their performances on the track last year. Decimated the Irish national record in finishing 4th in the 2024 Olympics. Fashion trend setters, too, with their iconic matching hair bows. 💚

Ireland is the current European Champions for the 4 x 400m mixed relay. Not only that but our winning team's celebratory jump produced a golden photo. Granted we're not European champions at very many things but when we occasionally do win, it's good times and big smiles.

In July, 2017, Grace Lehane, a 9-year-old girl in Cork, played the concertina to a very appreciative audience. This video has been viewed tens of millions of times on various platforms. I suppose it's just joy and innocence in its simplest forms, an antidote to online hate.

A plaque in his honour was erected in 2020, on the 10th anniversary of the famous day, sponsored by Coors Light. I suppose that's multiculturalism for you. 🇮🇪 🇺🇸 You can also guarantee he will still be fondly talked about in 50 years from now.

One of the most iconic moments in modern Irish history happened on January 8th, 2010. An innocuous news report featured a man who slipped on ice, who wasn't seriously hurt. That man, whoever he is, still gets talked about basically every day online. An Irish legend.

'Don't visit Ireland because two people at a bus stop, minding their own business, are not white.' Hard to quantify the damage "Irish patriot" racist idiots like O'Keeffe do with tweets like this or how truly unhinged they are. I'll throw out a few reasons to visit Ireland. /1

Bring back patronage!!!! Rich people used to use funding the arts for their own pleasure as a bragging point, not destroying them!!!!!!!!
I don't want to hear your most boomer complaint or your most millennial complaint. Tell me your most Victorian complaint.

anyway just to skip the "knowing about the odyssey is classism" discourse, it's also worth noting that a lot of Important Art just used to just be baked into cartoons and spark that interest! like kids could literally discover the odyssey through the simpsons!
