Happy to report on epifadin, a new bacteriocin shaping the human microbiome. New structural class, very short lived. Kills S. aureus rapidly and gives the producer S. epidermidis a profound advantage. Thanks to the teams of Peschel, Krismer, Grond. rdcu.be/dtSW7
We are happy to share our new paper on the uptake of fosfomycin through porins of E. coli. Our data show that the cytoplasmic membrane is the rate-limiting barrier, unless the relevant transporters are induced. Thanks to @TRR261 and @CoE_CMFI and the team.

Happy to share our brandnew paper on the first natural product beta-lactone ClpP inhibitors. They bind covalently, inhibit virulence and gave beautiful co-crystal structures with ClpPs from all three domains of life. Thanks Groll, Kaysser, Sieber, Grond labs for excellent work !!

Job opening in my team!! Position for a PhD candidate in a soon to start Marie-Curie European Traning Network on cell envelope active antbiotics. Mode of action studies on new antibacterial agents. Please look at the attachement and spread the word. Thank you.
"... the “pandemic treaty” must ... respond to a wider range of pandemic threats, not solely viruses ... If governments are serious about pandemic preparedness, they must support bold measures to conserve the effectiveness of antimicrobials within the Pandemic Instrument."
Removing antimicrobial resistance from the WHO’s ‘pandemic treaty’ will leave humanity extremely vulnerable to future pandemics theconversation.com/removing…
Dear Colleagues and friends ... thanks so much for making this event unforgetable.
Two PhD positons available in our team!!! Antibiotic MoA studies, including work on the fascinating target ClpP protase. One position within the Cluster of excellence CMFI cmfi.uni-tuebingen.de/and the second within the European Training Network CLEAR 'Cell Envelope Antibiotics'.
New paper with Peter Sass and Scott Ouellette. Chlamydial AAA+ unfoldase ClpC, its functional reconstitution, characterization, individually and in the ClpCP2P1 protease. Essential role for ClpC in chlamydial growth and intracellular development. journals.asm.org/doi/10.1128…
Organized by the TRR261, this conference is open to the entire natural products and antibiotics community!!! Antibiotic Action and Antibiotic Biosynthesis together in the same conference. This is rare but generates a lot of synergy. Register today as seats are filling rapidly !!

Women who changed the world
Happy women's day, today.
The first woman to be awarded a Nobel Prize, the first individual to be awarded two Nobel Prizes and still today the only individual with two Nobel Prizes in two different scientific categories: Marie Skłodowska Curie.

Every year a new graphic ... I like them all. Thanks to Tanja Schneider. These are her ideas. She's so ceative.
TRR261 supports the #WAAW every year! Let's prevent #AntimicrobialResistance together!

Congratulations Lisa. Very much deserved.
Very honored to be among this year's #ERC_StG awardees! The grant will allow us to study microbiome-mediated effects of psychotropic drugs. A big thank you to all lab members, collaborators, mentors, friends & family for their continued support.@ERC_Research @CoE_CMFI @uni_tue
