No, that's not right. Even though I loved Denzel's portrayal, The Shield and Training Day were shot in the same year. We were completely unaware of it and we were well into shooting the first season by the time TD hit theaters. So, an incredible coincidence to be sure! Also crazy that he won the Oscar for his dirty cop and I won the Emmy for mine... in the same year! Crazy!

The legendary video for 'Sabotage' was directed by Spike Jonze and shot in Los Angeles on a very low budget in guerrilla style. The Beastie Boys dressed up as tough cops of the '70s, parodying shows like Starsky & Hutch and Baretta. The car chase was almost entirely improvised, with the band doing their own stunt driving.
Released in 1994 on the album Ill Communication, the song and video became one of the biggest icons of the 90s: It was nominated for 5 VMAs and is still considered one of the best and most influential in MTV history.

Whoa. Chris Simms punching until his arms had nothing left. Obliterated the Ted Cruz appearance on ESPN's College Gameday last week, lobbying for the Protect College Sports Act. The line telling Cruz to go back to Cancun like he did when people in Texas were freezing … savage.

Democrat or Republican or Independent or Libertarian…your politics should not matter. This is not what happens in a Democracy. Freedom of the press.
Here's MS NOW reporter @gardnerakayla describing her arrival at the White House this morning. Her badge didn't work. "The officer asked me to hand over my badge. He said that it was disabled. I asked why I was not able to get inside. He said it was above him."

“Basket Case” was written by Billie Joe Armstrong about the anxiety and panic attacks he experienced for years. He later recalled waking up in the middle of the night in a panic and riding around the neighborhood to calm himself down. At the time he thought he was simply going crazy, but he eventually realised that what he had been experiencing were panic attacks. The song turned those deeply personal experiences into one of Green Day's most enduring anthems.
Released in 1994 as the second single from Dookie, “Basket Case” spent five weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart and also reached No. 9 on the Mainstream Rock chart. The song was nominated for Best Rock Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group at the 1995 Grammy Awards, while Dookie won the Grammy for Best Alternative Music Performance.
