Extremely small sample size and obviously my followers will be a biased sample, but I’m still somewhat surprised the result was fully unanimous. (Notably, pointed out in the replies, I didn’t ask how *useful* this website is compared to before.)

I haven’t really been around because idk it feels weird playing in Elon Musk’s playground so I feel like I’m not really tapped into what the vibe is and I’m curious

We used to think “well, if it can write a poem or paint a painting, it needs to be like us, a general thing with emotions and feelings and a full panoply of sentience.” We had no other models and hadn't thought about it very clearly.

This guy didn’t do that great of a job either tbh
Running Twitter is hard. I don’t wish that stress upon anyone. I trust that the team is doing their best under the constraints they have, which are immense. It’s easy to critique the decisions from afar…which I’m guilty of…but I know the goal is to see Twitter thrive. It will.

New study: Paxlovid rebound is much more likely if you initiate it within the first 2 days: 29% if started on day 1 17% on day 2 0% on day 3 or later I had predicted such based on basic principles of immunity alone medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

Twitter is the most efficient way to expose your own stupidity and destroy any aura of mystique. Like there was once a time, hard to even imagine now, when I thought that maybe Elon was smart.

I can still tweet though which is AWESOME. I have no way to confirm my tweets posted or remember what I already said or delete them or read replies. They just get sent out into the ether. I kinda like it.

Oh hey turns out I *can* still see likes in my notifs and those give me a link back to my own tweet so that I can add to a thread that way. Like this one. (Thanks, @reluctantlyjoe!)

Can’t even read my own tweets. Gotta protect those.

I love this screenshot because it captures both the day Twitter went read-only and the day Twitter went write-only.

Honestly this might be a genuinely pro-user move. Gotta limit that Twitter time.
To address extreme levels of data scraping & system manipulation, we’ve applied the following temporary limits: - Verified accounts are limited to reading 6000 posts/day - Unverified accounts to 600 posts/day - New unverified accounts to 300/day

The game controller actually seems like the smartest bit about this whole thing tbh.

COVID wastewater data just hit a two-year low in Middlesex County! Today the seven-day average dropped below 100 for the first time since July 20, 2021. (That's close to 1% of the peak in January 2022, which was ~9000.)

I’m still here sometimes because I guess I’m still getting some pleasure or connection from it, but oof it gets harder and harder to come here when I know the guy who runs it can just do stuff like this whenever he wants

Repeated, targeted harassment against any account will cause the harassing accounts to receive, at minimum, temporary suspensions. The words “cis” or “cisgender” are considered slurs on this platform.
