I personally find Billy Bishop convenient. But convenience is not an argument for expansion. The road in front of my house is convenient too. That does not mean I want it turned into a highway. I can value it as a neighbourhood road while recognizing that, at a larger scale, it would become something fundamentally different and far more disruptive. Cities are full of things that work precisely because their scale is limited. Bigger is not always better. The question is not whether Billy Bishop works. The question is whether it can grow without ceasing to work for the city around it. No credible case has been made that it can.
