@happystartups Summercamp. It’s like stepping into a beautiful bubble for three days. The first year I went I had fun, the second year I went, it felt like I was home. You see familiar faces, meet new people and so much in between. happystartupsummer.camp

I loved being part of this micro-podcast experiment by @AnneMiltenburg, founder of @BrandtheChange. She asked the questions: 1. What did you think when you heard the news about Threads? 2. Will Threads make the internet more safe and equitable, or less? brandthechange.org/blog/thou…

Patience. Patience. Patience. An undervalued trait in the age of speed and distraction.

A long marriage, a deep rooted commitment to a community or a mission, a great company; these are the kind of meaningful accomplishments that take the time they take. So enjoy the messy process and the scenic route getting there.

3) Originality is at the far side of unoriginality (those that can muster the patience to stick with the trial-and-error phase of copying others, learning new skills and accumulating experience are rewarded with breakthrough ideas - so make sure you stay on the bus)
2) Embrace radical incrementalism (small steps each day may seem insignificant but can make a big difference)
3
1) Develop a taste for having problems (behind every problem is an opportunity)

From Oliver Burkeman's excellent book 4000 Weeks. He states that there are 3 underlying principles of patience...
“In a world geared for hurry, the capacity to resist the urge to hurry - to allow things to take the time they take - is a way to gain purchase on the world, do the work that counts and derive satisfaction from the doing itself instead of deferring your fulfilment to the future.”
Yes there’s a time to move fast, but sometimes things can be frustratingly slow. Whilst patience can feel like a passive experience of letting go, in fact in more and more situations it’s a form of power.

Fall in love with the problem you're solving (and who you're solving it for), not your solution. People don't care about your solution, they care about their problems.
